Exploring Life & Business with Gia Gambaro Blount

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gia Gambaro Blount.

Gia Gambaro Blount

Hi Gia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I help parents of young children overcome behavior challenges to create a harmonious family life. As a mother of two children so different from one another, they have challenged my understanding of parenting theories and deepened my awareness that there is no “right” way to parent. I have 20 years of experience as a parent group educator, parent coach, and child development professor; I help parents address the root causes of challenging behavior to develop personalized strategies that promote warmth, trust, and authentic connection within families. Some of my specialties include a modern approach to toilet learning that does not involve the 3-day frenzy, emotional hygiene for all members of the family (our feelings need caretaking too!), and upskilling bedtime routines when children transition from sleep training and need a more developmentally appropriate plan.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In this line of work, parents’ biggest challenge is cutting through the noise on all the parenting trends. Staying up-to-date with the latest parenting trends and shifts is an integral part of this work as is discerning what is quality and what is hype. Parents often find themselves bombarded with an overwhelming amount of information, and that’s where I come in. My role is to help them navigate through the sea of content and tap into their innate parenting instincts for their one-of-a-kind child. I guide them in blending practical and easily applicable strategies with their deep understanding of their child’s uniqueness. It’s important to remember that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting because every child, every parent, and every parent-child dynamic is different.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As a parent coach, I work closely with parents to provide guidance, support, and resources to enhance their parenting skills and navigate the common challenges of raising children. My primary role as a parent coach is to empower parents, help them build a positive parent-child relationship, and create a nurturing environment for their children’s growth and development.

I am most proud of the outcomes, here is what families have shared with me after our sessions:
“Figuring out discipline issues has always been the biggest point of contention between me and my husband. Gia helped us find a way to reconcile our differing points of view while respecting each of our values. Now we are confident that we are raising our child in a way that feels right for both of us. “ (Deborah, mother of a 2 yo & a 5 yo)

“Gia is THE kids’ whisperer to me. She understands my daughter better than me. I was blessed to work with her through my daughter’s toddler and preschool stage and it gave me peace and confidence to be the parent I wanted to be. If I did not have Gia on this journey, I would be lost.” (Heidi, mother of a 3yo)

My specialties include:
Simple and peaceful bedtime rituals that reduce chaos, bargaining, and resistance.
Coping strategies and replacement behaviors that eliminate punishment, nagging, and yelling.
Strategies that promote independence & cooperation for sibling relationships and playdates.
Easy environmental changes that promote emotional regulation.
Body autonomy tips that promote toilet learning and independent eating.
Encouraging adventurous eating to reduce picky eaters
The foundational and reliable parenting tool that can be applied to any situation.
Understand the difference between meltdowns and tantrums to prevent, reduce, and recover from big emotions.
Learn simple developmental shifts in communication that promote first-time listening and eliminate repeating and nagging.

I offer 1:1 sessions through my website https://www.giagambaroblount.com/ and parenting classes at The Family Room in San Marino and Toluca Lake. In addition, I provide workshops and am available for bookings as a guest speaker.
