Exploring Life & Business with Alexandra Hryshyn of NoHo Photo Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Hryshyn. They and their team shared their story with us below:

NoHo photo studio is established with the vision to create a studio that would serve the needs of both the professional and aspiring photographers. Our fully equipped studio includes everything needed for the perfect photo shoot. Owner of NoHo Photo Studio is Alexandra Hryshyn, and she is a passionate photographer based in Los Angeles. She moved to LA in 2014 and began her journey as a photographer by taking freelance jobs. Over the years, her work has been featured on book covers, in magazines in the USA and abroad, and even in news outlets such as Fox11 and ABC7. She had the privilege of working at high-profile events like the Turkish-American Film Festival, as well as the Los Angeles and New York Fashion Weeks.

In 2020, her husband suggested that she should have her own photo studio to bring ideas to life more easily. It was a big step, but she decided to take a chance. She found the perfect spot in just one month – a photo studio that was being rented out but didn’t seem to be getting the proper attention it deserved. Alexandra took the initiative and contacted the owner, asking if he would be interested in selling the business. He was interested as he hadn’t had the time to manage it. After some discussion, they came to an agreement.

Since May 2020, Alexandra Hryshyn is the proud owner of NoHo Photo Studio, located in North Hollywood, California.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In March/April, just as Covid-19 was beginning to take hold, Alexandra and previous owner came to an agreement to sell/buy the photo studio. Although the situation was uncertain, she was determined not to step back. Alexandra with support of family and friends took a risk, not knowing how long the pandemic would last. During the first few months of ownership and pandemic, Alexandra and her husband used the time to renovate the studio, organize the business, and create a website. As someone who had never owned a photo studio before, Alexandra used the time to learn how all equipment is working. Despite the difficult times, she tried to make the most of it by being productive and proactive.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about NoHo Photo Studio?
NoHo Photo Studio Rentals was originally established to be rented out by both professional and aspiring photographers. Our studio offers a unique combination of amenities, location, and available space, making it ideal for portrait sessions, commercial shoots, workshops, and more!

Since 2021, we have expanded our services and now offer photography services from our team of photographers. Our lead photographer and owner, Alexandra Hryshyn, specializes in portraits, headshots, beauty and fashion photoshoots for individuals and brands. With an outstanding portfolio, Alexandra’s photos have been published in both local and international magazines. From 2021, Alexandra Hryshyn is also a freelance photographer for Getty Images Editorial.

At NoHo Photo Studio, we offer a variety of other photography services, such as boudoir and maternity sessions, for which we have been recognized with multiple awards. Our studio also has photographers who specialize in family sessions, cake smash and birthday photoshoots, seasonal mini-sessions (such as Christmas and Easter), as well as specialists for event photography to cover your event.

We are excited to see NoHo Photo Studio growing and evolving, and in the near future, we plan to host workshops and masterclasses for professionals and amateurs alike.

As the owner of the photo studio and a photographer herself, Alexandra Hryshyn understands that the photoshoot process can be challenging for both parties involved. The same level of quality is provided for our photography services, and we have a great selection of photographers to choose from.

Pricing:

• $39-$49 per hour to rent a studio on weekdays, price depends on how many hours you are booking.
• $49-$59 per hour to rent a studio on weekends
• To book a headshot session with our photographer starts from $199 for a session (studio time is included in the price)
• Maternity photoshoot price with our photographer and studio starts $399 for a photoshoot
