In the world of great achievers, some stories stand out for their boldness, resilience, and ability to defy the impossible. Valeria’s is one of them. Since her childhood in Mexico, she always knew that her destiny was not confined by traditional boundaries. At the age of 20, with a degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in hand and a heart full of dreams, she made a life-changing decision: to emigrate to the United States in search of a greater purpose.

She arrived with no connections, no support network, and minimal resources, but with an unbreakable determination. In the first few months, she worked in conventional jobs, feeling with each passing day that she was not living the life she was meant for. “I hated the person I was becoming,” she recalls. That was when she decided to bet on education as her springboard to a different future. She applied to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and when she received her acceptance letter, she knew she was taking the first major step toward transformation.

With a suitcase full of dreams and unwavering faith, she arrived in Los Angeles, ready to overcome any obstacle. Uncertainty was her only companion, but so was her unshakable belief that she was in the place where her true potential would emerge. And so it did.

At UCLA, life presented her with an opportunity she had never considered. A professor, impressed by her analytical skills, suggested something that felt more like a challenge: “Valeria, your case studies are excellent; you should apply to Harvard.” The idea seemed unattainable, and for a moment, doubt crept in. “How could I possibly go to Harvard?” she wondered. But deep inside, she knew that great dreams are only conquered with courage. She completed the application, and days later, she received the answer that confirmed what she had always suspected: she was destined for extraordinary things. “Accepted.”

With fear, anxiety, but above all, an indescribable excitement, she booked her flight and embarked on the experience that would redefine her life. At Harvard, she not only received an elite education but also discovered a new version of herself. “The Valeria I always knew was inside me finally began to emerge,” she shares.

Returning to Los Angeles was a natural choice; the city was no longer just a place but the stage where she would build her legacy. Soon after, another unparalleled opportunity knocked on her door: a position as a financial strategist at one of the nation’s most prestigious companies. There, she discovered her true calling. Beyond her innate passion for finance and personal investments, she realized that her purpose was far greater: guiding others in transforming their vision into tangible success. “I am passionate about connecting with people in a genuine way so they can elevate their self-worth and financial standing,” she affirms.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey to where I am today began when I made the decision to emigrate from Mexico to the United States in search of a better life. Like many who arrive in this country, I took a job that seemed like a step forward. However, after just two months, I realized that this low-paying, grueling job was not for me. I felt like I was stuck in a hole with no way out—nothing about my life was shining, and I didn’t feel good about where I was. Yet, deep down, I knew my purpose was greater than this. I didn’t want to live paycheck to paycheck, with no aspirations, no opportunities—essentially, no future. I wasn’t just looking to survive; I wanted to thrive. My escape and source of hope were education. I had always been good in school, and it was there that I saw the possibility to change my fate. I decided to seek an opportunity in Los Angeles, a place where I could transform my future and build the life I truly wanted. That was the turning point that pushed me to keep moving forward and fight for a future filled with opportunities and purpose

As a financial strategist and mentor, what I love most is connecting with people. I truly enjoy being able to provide solutions to their challenges by understanding who they are, where they are, and where they want to go.
