Daily Inspiration: Meet Tanya Ali

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Ali

Hi Tanya, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My goal was to provide healthier snack and dessert options for my children. Starting this brand allowed me to do what I love most: creating, baking, and sharing the joy of homemade treats with close friends and family. Every dessert made represents more than just a sweet bite; it’s a commitment to providing better snack and dessert options. Being a Mom has comes with many responsibilities, it’s comforting to have peace of mind knowing that my products are made with real ingredients. It’s one less thing I have to worry about when my kids want a sweet treat.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any new business, I’ve had my fair share of learning curves. There have been a handful of challenges along the way, but I’ve been enjoying this whole process. I’m very much committed to offering snacks made with healthier ingredients, and I really trust my products. I put a lot of thought and energy into reading labels on the back of packaged products before giving them to my kids, and it was becoming difficult finding the right choices for my two boys. It felt natural to just create it myself since I couldn’t find what I was looking for, and the brand eventually came into fruition organically. I really took my time with the process, and once I was able to find the right balance between the taste and the ingredients I knew it was time to share my story. My loving family and closest girlfriends gave me lots of confidence, and it’s truly because of them I have gotten thus far.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What sets me apart is my focus on quality and the intention I put into each recipe. I did not want to sacrifice taste or quality of ingredients, which was tricky and time consuming but I’m glad I didn’t rush the process. I’m grateful and happy with the way each product turned out. Whether it’s the chocolate covered strawberries, jars of granola, or the peanut butter brownies, everything is made with the intention of bringing joy to the table while maintaining wholesome values. I am most proud of the fact that Mom’s Dessert Co. allows me to combine my passion for baking with my values as a mom.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
My sons are who matter to me the most. They are my inspiration, my motivation, and my drive. Being a mother means leading by example and showing my children that hard work, resilience, and staying true to your values can lead to something amazing. Personally, it also feels empowering to have an identity outside of motherhood. Being a parent is incredibly fulfilling, but in this process I’m finding my individual purpose. I think it’s important for any parent to maintain that, and I want my kids to see that as well. Being the best version of myself as a mom doesn’t require me to solely orbit around my family, it means I have to keep showing up for myself as well. I want to continue to hold my personal values and self-worth, and I feel like I’ve found exactly that in Mom’s Dessert Co.
