Daily Inspiration: Meet Rylee Evans

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rylee Evans.

Rylee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m from Los Angeles California, I grew up with salon owner parents. Both working in Film/ Music and Television. Both celebrity hair and makeup veterans. I’ve been doing makeup and celebrity glam professionally for six years I started off getting coaching from my mother. Shadowing her and Learning her techniques. I’m a visual learner and I started with practicing on friends and family and I fell in love with the process and transformation and the ability to guide someone with a vision and creating together. To ultimately see them come to life. It began as an outlet and way to express myself. I never stopped creating and been working ever since. First job assisting on with moms clients, building my clientele and connections continuously. I worked press conference jobs, short films, photoshoots and music videos, and you name it. As my career is where it is because of my mentors. I strongly suggest anyone starting out to outreach to someone in the field actively. This family business progressed and simultaneously, I had my mother to cheer me on. Can’t beat that!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Roads are usually bumpy, right unless you follow the unbeaten path. I truly believe my process has been delightful and rewarding not without building tough skin and standing firm in where you belong. Even when others believe that it wasn’t difficult enough for you to get there in terms of paying dues. I am so grateful that I can call my parents my mentors and be able to navigate and negotiate my worth in this industry. I definitely struggled with performance and confidence starting off. And being that, I look so young and unassuming, and wanting to be taken seriously for my craft.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a makeup artist in the entertainment industry, and I specialize in beauty and skin. I am known to enhance natural beauty and work with you to establish your own beauty standard. I am most proud of my growth and the ability to work with influential people and gain experience along my journey. What’s the part for the most is? My identity isn’t completely in my work, but I find great pleasure in being of service in any way that I can and serving others to reach the common goal and make others feel beautiful.

What matters most to you?
Integrity matters to me, and secondly longevity matters to me, and thirdly, meaningful connections in this entertainment industry that last a lifetime. Also, always being able to make a room for growth in any field of business while not being placed into a box when it comes to creativity!
