Daily Inspiration: Meet Ronen Pollak

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronen Pollak.

Hi Ronen, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am Ronen Pollak, a Los Angeles based artist. My work has been showcased and sold in galleries and museums both locally and globally, with locations including Los Angeles, Laguna Beach, Santiago Chile, London, Japan, Vienna, Israel, Australia and more.

My art is both representational and an abstraction of life be it physical or spiritual. I use mixed mediums which allows me to express myself in both colorful expressionist paintings, as well as, black ink line drawings. I live with a mission to bring forth the beauty of emotions, nature, human struggle, and light.

Art has been at the center of my life since the young age of three. In addition to being an artist, I am a published poet and musician, and have experience as an art teacher and curator as well. Traveling worldwide and experiencing various cultures has also shaped my work as an artist. I am dedicated to highlighting the things that sometimes go unnoticed, and to telling stories and touching hearts. My work, therefore, is an ever evolving extension of who I am

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been smooth. Some of the challenge in in getting a gallery to get behind me. I think that the fact that I am very versatile and interested in expressing my art in various styles sometimes makes it challenging for galleries to market my work.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have been painting portraits and figures, mostly women for a long time. I also paint abstracts which allows a different kind of expression. I am also a poet, singer/songwriter. I work as a Group Therapy facilitator and teacher using my gift of art and music as a central part of the therapy work.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Painting, singing, hiking, helping people, working with children.
