Daily Inspiration: Meet Robyn Goldberg

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robyn Goldberg

Hi Robyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my career at Cedars Sinai Medical Center where I worked in cardiology and then in gastroenterology. Over my five years working at the medical center I ran an outpatient eating disorder program for 8 years. I have had a successful private practice in Los Angeles for 28 years.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Healthcare has changed and I have had to stay abreast on current dietary trends and always work on improving my skillset around on counseling clients. As a “nondiet” approach registered dietitian it can be challenging to convey to clients and other providers that diets do not work.

I am proud of all the lives I have helped and love being a resource to the community.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love helping clients break free from diet culture and help them cultivate a new relationship with food and their body. There are so many toxic messages out there which shape each person’s view around food and body. I am a “nondiet” approach, weight inclusive nutrition therapist and being able to work with where each person is at is important in my work.

I am proud of being the author of the book The Eating Disorder Trap: A Guide for Clinicians and Loved Ones. I am proud of being the co-author of Your Recovery Resource an online course for parents, partners and loved ones who have a loved one struggling with an eating disorder.

I am also proud of my podcast The Eating Disorder Trap Podcast and most recently my newest endeavor Nourishing Your Mind and Body, a retreat that colleague Greta Angert, LMFT.

We will be leading our retreat at La Quinta Resort & Club June 6-8.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Being authentic and real with my clients. Speaking my truth and connecting with each person the best I can.
