Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricardo Feliz.
Hi Ricardo, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
During my college years, I was invited to be in a play, and that experience sparked something in me. I discovered a deep love for acting and storytelling. From there, I continued exploring different ways to express myself—through art, entrepreneurship, and community work. That moment was the beginning of a journey that’s still unfolding today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t been easy — and it shouldn’t be. Nothing meaningful ever comes without struggle. But those hard moments showed me who I really am. They taught me to get up every time I fall, to keep grinding even when no one’s watching.
For me, it’s about faith — faith in my craft, in my story, and in the purpose behind everything I create. I don’t just want to succeed for me; I want to open doors for others who feel like they don’t fit the mold.
The key is to stay disciplined, stay humble, and stay ready for the moment when opportunity shows up. I keep pushing because I know this journey is bigger than just me — it’s about breaking cycles, building community, and creating something lasting.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who has guided me and supported me on this journey. You know who you are. Your belief, wisdom, and encouragement have meant more than words can express. I wouldn’t be here without you.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a poet, an artist, and a vessel for stories that don’t always have a place.
My art is born from tension — the kind you feel when you don’t fit in a box,
when your roots stretch across continents,
and your truth doesn’t come with easy labels.
I create not just to be seen, but to see —
to reflect the parts of us that are hidden, overlooked, or misunderstood.
My work moves through painting, performance, and words —
but it’s never just about the medium.
It’s about the message. The memory. The movement.
As an entrepreneur and nonprofit board member,
I’m building platforms where art meets action,
where creativity becomes access, and expression becomes empowerment.
I don’t wait for permission — I make space.
I don’t just share art — I deliver it, hand to heart,
to communities that deserve to feel its power.
I’m not interested in fame.
I’m here for truth. For transformation.
For creating the kind of work that stays with you —
long after the curtain falls.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I used to walk the city of New York with my grandma —
hand in hand through the chaos, like she was guiding me through a poem.
On the subway, she sat like royalty,
back straight, eyes soft,
like even the noise knew to quiet down for her.
She’d tell me,
“Watch people, Rico. Don’t just look — see.”
That’s where I learned to be an actor —
not in class, but in motion,
in rhythm,
in the way her spirit made space for me
to be all that I am.
Now when I walk alone,
I still feel her hand.
Like she’s saying,
“Shine. You were born for this.”
