Daily Inspiration: Meet Nir Chernia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nir Chernia

Hi Nir, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Chris (full name Chris Jul-ul) and I (Nir Chernia), were two friends who began running regularly together in an effort to be in better shape. But beyond pushing each other to new fitness goals, we found ourselves talking more and more about something we were both passionate about: the creator economy.

For years, we had both toyed with creative ideas. I was experimenting with startup apps and making video games, while Chris was in the midst of working on a short film. We were both fascinated by the world of digital content creation and eager to explore it further. We both felt a deep connection to the world of digital creation but weren’t quite sure how to take the plunge. As we discussed our dreams, we realized we weren’t alone—there were so many others out there like us, eager to share their work and connect with audiences, but unsure of where to start.

That idea first took shape in the cramped living room of my apartment. We started small, brainstorming ways to bring creators together and experimenting with different content styles. It was during the COVID era, and with everyone stuck at home, Discord seemed like the perfect platform to start. It was a way to connect people when they needed it most. So, we launched a Discord server and invited a few friends and fellow creators to join in.

The response was amazing. What started as a small group quickly grew into a lively community. Creators of all types — filmmakers, podcasters, digital artists, writers, and more joined to share their experiences and learn from each other. The conversations were rich, and the energy was inspiring.

As the community grew, we realized we wanted to create a more permanent and comprehensive platform that could host deeper discussions and resources. That’s when we decided to launch cbx.gg in 2023—a dedicated website forum focused on the creator economy. It was a place where creators could discuss the latest news, share how they are growing their audiences, and stay on the pulse of the everchanging creator landscape.

Our hope is that cbx.gg can be a launchpad for others, helping more creators find their voice and share their unique stories.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Chris and I have a joke that we take “L’s” daily (L = Loses). Nothing has been easy when building a community, from moderation to growth.

Some of the main struggles have been keeping things under control during vacations (lol, we barely take any) and during time we spend with our friends and family.

Additionally, keeping the community in good spirits and having it not devolve into a “negative” space is an every day battle.

Finally, staying relevant and developing the type of content we enjoy making while balancing it with content that will inspire or inform others.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We’re creators at heart, and our work revolves around building and engaging with the CBx.gg community. At CBx.gg, we create content that highlights the most interesting and relevant discussions happening within our forum, typically news related to the creator economy. Whether it’s the latest trends, emerging opportunities, or challenges faced by creators, we’re there to provide insights—and we like to keep it fun. We’re known for injecting a bit of humor into everything we do, because we believe that learning about the creator economy should be as enjoyable as it is informative.

Individually, we also pursue our creative passions. I (Nir) love making sketch comedy and all sorts of quirky, offbeat videos that let me experiment with different styles and storytelling techniques. On the other hand, Chris is deeply passionate about short films, often diving into more narrative-driven content that explores unique stories and perspectives.

What sets us apart is our commitment to blending creativity with a sense of community. We’re most proud of the community we’ve built around CBx.gg—a space where creators can come together, share their work, learn from each other, and grow. It’s this focus on community, along with our unique blend of humor and creativity, that really makes our work stand out.

At the end of the day, we’re here to inspire others, have fun, and make a positive impact on the creator economy. Whether we’re breaking down complex topics with a comedic twist or crafting heartfelt short films, our goal is always the same: to encourage more people to explore their creativity and find their own path in the creator world.

What matters most to you?
Creativity and economic independence. We believe that these two elements are not only essential for personal fulfillment but also for building a life that feels truly our own.

Many people are drawn to the creator economy because they want more than just a paycheck—they want the freedom to express themselves, to innovate, and to build something meaningful. Creativity allows us to tell our own stories, share our unique perspectives, and connect with others in a way that is deeply personal and impactful. It’s a powerful tool for self-expression and a way to bring our ideas to life.

But creativity alone isn’t enough. We also value economic independence because it provides the freedom to pursue our creative passions without being tethered to a traditional job or constrained by financial worries. When we are economically independent, we have the autonomy to take risks, explore new opportunities, and make decisions that align with our values and goals. It’s about having the freedom to choose our own path and create a fulfilling life on our own terms.

For us, the creator economy represents the perfect blend of these two values. It’s a space where creativity and economic independence come together, allowing people to build careers that are both creatively satisfying and financially sustainable. That’s why we’re so passionate about supporting other creators through cbx.gg—because we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to create a life that feels truly fulfilling and authentically theirs.
