Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Paige.
Nikki , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I met and partnered with Greg Hannley. He had a film company. We decided to make a label and a safe haven for artists and producers to create music and content. We built a couple of studios and started calling in some of my fellow producers to start. Since then we have released a few albums worth of work and material with music videos and content all while helping others find their way and paths through the industry. We started doing live performances at our compound that we call Club Malibu. It’s really a beautiful place that inspires artists like myself, and hosts a unique vibe for people to connect and meet other driven and like minded individuals. We record, we film, we throw events, and we release our passions here through music, along with professional and thought out captivating videos. All while telling a story. Once the label had its foundation, I started focusing on my own art and I’m very excited to share it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There’s been a lot of trial and error but it always works out. I believe that if I didn’t have obstacles or things to learn from, I would be a very bored and flavorless artist. This is not a hobby. It’s a full time job. A business. It can still be fun. But it isn’t for the weak. I had to learn how to filter through a lot of “talk” and empty promises. One of the bigger challenges included being OK with starting over. That is where I found the courage to go independent and release my own music. After all… that has always been the goal. Even if nobody was listening or going to my shows. All I can say is support one another. Watch what happens. Everyone talks. Not every one will like you. Stay true to yourself and your goals. Be kind to others. Finish what you start. Surround yourself with people that have that same mentality. You can have a lot of friends/fan base. But if they are bringing you or your health down, you need to try out another circle. You’ve got to get out there. Go overseas eventually. Don’t get stuck in one place. These are things I’ve personally learned the hard way.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I run a label with Greg Hannley. We shoot little short film music videos with Kyle Russell (@mydudekyle) at Malibu Films. I release music and art under our label and throw fun events to show- case myself, along with other talented artists I’ve met along the way. I’m proud to be able to help and contribute to a very tough industry. I’m also proud of my music, this new upcoming album I’m dropping and my team, our artists. It’s an extended family. We’ve put out a great body of work and I hope people are able to see and hear me through it as well as appreciate the work that goes into it. I hope to inspire others to do the same. It’s liberating. I will always suggest that you find a good team like I did. It’s not easy to find real good people that love and respect you. But you will know when you meet them. You’ve got to love your job / role in each others lives. It really works. Don’t need to be the biggest. Just be the most driven. I’m proud I stuck with that mindset because I’m very proud of what we’ve built together. You can dowload my new 3 song EP Sub X here:

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love that I get to work and stay on the edge of the earth. Every time I go outside I am reminded of how blessed I really am. I also am terrified of tsunami’s. I have had nightmares about them. So there’s that ha ha. That and sharks. But I don’t think I would be happy anywhere else. L.A. is beautiful. To be honest… I like the traffic. That’s where I think the best and come up with my best song ideas and concepts. It forces you to sit and think even when you don’t have time for it.
