Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Black.
Hi Morgan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Morgan Black, founder of Black Aesthetics in Pasadena. I’m a Licensed Esthetician with a major focus on acne treatments. I actually pivoted to focus heavily on acne when I started seeing the deep emotional and mental toll it was taking on my clients. Skin struggles go way beyond what’s on the surface, it really impacts your confidence and how you show up in the world.
I got into this industry to do more than just surface-level treatments. I wanted Black Aesthetics to be a place where people don’t just get clearer skin, but feel supported, understood, and confident again in their own skin.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I started this business completely on my own when I was just 23 years old fresh out of school without knowing the first thing about running a business. Over the past eight years I have had to figure out every single detail of entrepreneurship through trial, error, and sheer determination. Learning how to be a business owner and handling all the extra details while staying dedicated to my clients has easily been one of my biggest challenges, but it’s also what makes Black Aesthetics so special to me. As the business has grown, so have I!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What sets me apart from others in this industry is my firm belief that a successful business starts with a deep, personal connection. Acne is incredibly personal and sensitive, so I treat every client like a human being with a unique story rather than just another appointment on my schedule.
By building genuine trust and taking the time to understand both the physical and emotional impact of their skin struggles, I’m able to create a safe, judgment-free space where my clients feel truly heard. That individual care allows me to tailor treatments far beyond standard formulas, supporting them through every step of their journey. Ultimately, my goal isn’t just to treat your skin it’s to be a real partner in helping you rebuild your confidence from the inside out.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
While navigating the business side entirely on my own was a steep learning curve, self-sufficiency, sheer determination, and seeing my client’s gain back a sense of self and confidence is what keeps Black Aesthetics moving forward. That internal push got me through the tough days, but I also know I didn’t get here completely alone. I’ve been blessed with an incredibly supportive circle of family and friends who have backed me since day one. Whether that meant offering encouragement, cheering on my big wins, or willingly jumping in front of the camera to be my test models for Instagram videos, having that support in my corner has made all the difference.
