Today we’d like to introduce you to Mina Chun.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, I’m Mina, the owner and creator behind Kraze Board. Before starting this business, I spent over 10 years working in finance, which is completely different from what I do now. Even while working in corporate, I always knew I had a creative side and was constantly looking for an outlet where I could express it.
A lot of my inspiration comes from my experiences living in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and New York, along with traveling to over 40 countries. Through those experiences, I developed a deep appreciation for food, presentation, and the way beautifully curated spreads can bring people together across different cultures.
After becoming a mom of two, I wanted to create something of my own that combined creativity, hospitality, and my passion for wine and cheese. My husband and I were married in Sonoma County, and I also earned my WSET Level 2 wine certification along the way. Over time, that passion naturally evolved into Kraze Board.
What started as a creative outlet has now grown into a business that allows me to be part of people’s special moments, whether it’s a birthday, baby shower, corporate event, or simple gathering with loved ones. I’m incredibly grateful that I get to do something I truly love while creating experiences that bring people together.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. As a small business owner, I wear many hats and handle almost everything myself – from sourcing ingredients and creating the boards to marketing, social media, responding to inquiries, deliveries, and day-to-day operations. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes that people don’t always see.
Balancing all of that while raising two kids has definitely been one of the biggest challenges. Coming from a finance background, I also had to learn an entirely new industry and step outside of my comfort zone creatively and professionally.
There have been stressful moments and a lot of trial and error along the way, but every challenge has helped me grow and pushed me to build something I’m truly proud of. Seeing customers enjoy my work and trusting me to be part of their special moments makes all the hard work incredibly rewarding!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Kraze Board, I create custom charcuterie boards, charcuterie cups, grazing tables, and catering spreads for all kinds of events and celebrations. I’m known for creating boards that are both visually detailed and thoughtfully curated, with a big focus on presentation and customization.
What I’m most proud of is building this business from the ground up and growing through repeat customers and word of mouth. I think what sets me apart is the level of care and attention I put into every order, making each one feel personal and unique.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I love collaborating with local businesses, brands, venues, and event vendors on creative partnerships and styled events.
One of the biggest ways people can support my business is by sharing my work, recommending Kraze Board to others, and continuing to shop small and support local businesses. Every order, referral, and social media share means so much to me!
