Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Summerfield
Hi Madison , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been exposed to the beauty industry for a long time. My mother is an amazing hair stylist. When I was very little she would have be model for hair shows, and be involved with wedding. So I would say my interest for the beauty industry started there.
I started makeup very young, I was 13 when i started being interested in makeup. I saw pictures online and thought i can do that. I would spend hours in my bedroom creating fake wounds and cuts with things around the house. As that interest increased at the age of 16 I got my first makeup related job at a hunted house; Erebus, Pontiac, Michigan. There is where i learned how to use an airbrush, which helped me a lot in my career moving forward.
With this new found knowledge, I got introduced to the theatre program at my high school by a friend. From there I was the head of the makeup department for many years.
As years passed I’ve been learning on my own to grow my skills.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had some struggle along the way.
In Michigan there wasn’t a lot of opportunity for jobs and growth.
I also wanted to go to cinema makeup school in la. To get there it took me over 5 years because of financial constraints as well as covid.

I specialize in sfx makeup for tv and film. I known for. I have the ability to create realistic wounds and monsters. What sets me apart from others is my time management and ability to problem solve.
How do you think about luck?
Covid had a bad impact on life with not being able to come to Los Angeles as soon as I wanted , but in return waiting gave me some amazing luck with the people I had the opportunity to meet.
