Daily Inspiration: Meet Leonard Manning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leonard Manning

Hi Leonard, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started at a young age in Compton, California. I use to have jam sessions with my grandpa and my cousins playing a ukulele. I compose my first piece before my teen years my grandma heard it and looked at me and said you’re going to be a musician. Fast forward to the future I have 2 degrees in music and over 10’000 beats in my catalog. I also have my own google page with links to streaming platforms that have my music and social media pages that still feel surreal to be honest.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was smooth until my teen years 14-18 it was rough but I persevered through it with the help of my grandma’s and my cousins who believed in me and gave me the confidence to keep moving. That experience made me stronger. Had some artists who looked over me but I saw that as a blessing in disguise. Now I’m working with a group who believes in me and see my potential where the others didn’t and I’m grateful for them. I also been meeting so many artists and engineers who really loves my work.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a producer, engineer, singer, songwriter, compose film score pieces, and sound fx. My main specialty is producing music. I’m known for my unique style in creating music and singing. I’m mostly proud of the ability that was given to me by The Most High to create beautiful noise we call music. What’s sets me apart from others? I create from the heart and every beat and song tells a story and describes how I feel about someone or something.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me? That is staying true to myself. The reason why in my opinion, a true artist creates from the heart because you’ll lose your true identity trying to create what other people want.
