Daily Inspiration: Meet Julia Dryas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Dryas.

Hi Julia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got started in Magic when I was 6 years old. Ever since then I have loved watching Magic. It wasn’t until I started taking Magic Classes at the Magic Castle and performing magic as a Magician’s Assistant that I really started to perform my own magic and find my own style. The Academy of Magical Arts Junior Program at the Magic Castle and Jeff McBride’s Magic and Mystery School helped me a lot when finding my voice and what type magic I love. Everyone I have met has inspired me to find my voice to create joy with magic. For me, Magic unlocks a new way of telling stories while putting smiles on everyone’s face.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The struggle for me was trying to find who I am as a Magician. I have always been shy and felt like I was not enough to be a Magician. Sometimes, the thought still crosses my mind, but along the road I have found that my passion for magic allows me to fly past these doubts and bring a little light to everyone’s eyes. I know that the only thing I can do is bring my passion for the art of magic where ever I go and practice is all I can do. As long as I try my best and create from the heart, I know I am enough.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Magician. I have a small reputation of being known as the butterfly girl, since I love theming my magic around butterflies.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me by allowing me to add a bit of magic to their lives or events. I love to collaborate with others by building new magic ideas and innovating magic effects to inspire those who like magic. People can support me by following me on my social media pages and showing up to magical events to see some magic.
