Daily Inspiration: Meet Jahad Russaw

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jahad Russaw.

Hi Jahad, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am the son of R&B Legend Faith Evans & Legendary A&R/Executive Todd Russaw.
I would say that I’m a multifaceted artist, DJ, and producer whose sound blends the soul of R&B with the grit and storytelling of hip-hop. Known for my smooth production, emotionally rich vocals, and genre-bending style, I bring both classic sensibilities and modern flair to my craft. Whether I’m spinning records, crafting beats, or delivering melodies, I create experiences that connect deeply with listeners and reflect real life, love, and struggle.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a process.

Staying authentic is one of the big struggles in this day and age.
Especially being “somebody’s son” as they say, finding your own lane. It takes a village of support to do so.

Lastly, I’d say remaining true to the art through today’s landscape.
There are so many talented people that don’t get the promo that they deserve.

But I have faith that true artists will eventually prevail.

In no particular order

I am a DJ/Producer
Artist (SINGER/RAPPER)
Actor (IF NECESSARY)
I specialize in R&B/Hip Hop/Reggae.

I’m most proud of getting my first placement as a producer with Grammy nominated artist Durand Burnarr on his last album ‘Bloom’

What I feel sets me apart from others is I’m intuitive with the sounds of R&B.
I’m a student of the game since day one.
Most might say they are tapped in, but I have certified proof in my blood.

Unlike most “nepo babies”
I actually am taking the road less traveled.
Which is the one where you have to earn your stripes.

In closing, I’m most proud of being the son of my parents who taught me how to think forward & stay humble in the process.

What are your plans for the future?
I plan on dropping an EP by the end of the year called “Daydreamers”
I’m looking forward to continuing DJing for more of my mothers tours in the upcoming future.

I also am excited for my little brother Ryders future!

Hopefully investing more time into my mothers foundation ‘Ryders Room’ which is for kids & adults on the Autistic Spectrum & Specials Needs.
