Today we’d like to introduce you to Gin

Hi GIN, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got my start in the music industry as a promoter, booking agent and as an artist. Being born and raised in Los Angeles, gave me the opportunity to embrace the elements of hip-hop. I fell in love with the culture and I starting writing as I got older I started to go to events and created and developed GSBookings, which is a promotion and booking company that helps promote artists and secure placements via shows or song features. In 2012, I released My Lyrical Expression EP. In 2013, I released the Dream Getting EP and I released my full album titled “Spiritual Bars” in 2018. Spiritual Bars gave me the opportunity to tour South Africa and the Middle East. I created a brand with Spiritual Bars merchandise such as handmade soap and handmade jewelry such as gemstone bracelets and earrings. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely not a smooth road. It’s a journey based on faith, hard work and belief. I do my best to network especially with DJs who could play my music. Sometimes they will support and sometimes they don’t. I had to learn to stop knocking on doors that don’t want to open and look at new doors and new opportunities that do want to be opened and that support me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an artist that does Hip-Hop, Amapiano, Afrobeats and Afrohouse. I specialize more in Hip-Hop and Amapiano. I am known to be one of the first Los Angeles artists that have toured South Africa and specializes in this genre of music from America. I am most proud of being able to tour Africa and to have a fanbase there. This is what sets me apart from others and I am still an independent artist.
