Daily Inspiration: Meet Gabrielle Meit & Shanna Sciara

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Meit & Shanna Sciara. Them and their team share their story with us below:

We’re Gabi and Shanna, a lesbian travel couple based in Brooklyn, NY. Early on in our relationship, we started to realize that we both loved traveling. Since Gabi is a photographer and Shanna is a videographer and video editor, we made 27 Travels as our creative outlet. It started as an Instagram account in 2016 where we would document our trips and adventures. We also started to realize how little information exists for LGBTQ travelers and we wanted to help change that.

Traveling for us isn’t just about ticking destinations and activities off a list, it’s about growing, learning, and becoming more and more open-minded by experiencing new and different cultures from all over the planet. We hope to inspire others to explore more of the world around them and to spread the message that travel is inclusive to everyone, no matter your gender or who you love.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our journey to get where we are today has not been a smooth road, nothing about growing up being an LGBTQ+ is a smooth road. We face obstacles throughout our lives that we have had to overcome to both loves ourselves, feel comfortable in our own skin, and succeed at what we do.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We travel the world together as a lesbian couple, create content, and give helpful travel tips and advice. Since Shanna is a videographer and Gabi is a Photographer we are both creative and visual people! We’re known for our love, fun personalities & Creative beautiful content, we want to make the travel industry a more inclusive place for all people and represent our community whenever we can!

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
We personally think that life is all about taking risks. Even though risks can be really scary, the best things always come from taking a risk and putting yourself in a situation that might even scare you. I think that in some ways, we are both risk takers, we like to be careful where we can but also know that many times taking a risk in life to follow your heart and follow your dreams is completely worth it.
