Daily Inspiration: Meet Felipe Cardoso

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felipe Cardoso

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Reflecting on my journey as a marketing professional, I’ve always had a deep passion for connecting people, curating experiences, and building brands with purpose. My career began in Rio de Janeiro, where I studied advertising and public relations while working as a model. This early exposure to the fashion, hospitality, and entertainment industries laid the foundation for my future endeavors.

Over the years, I’ve combined my love for storytelling and branding with hands-on experience in marketing, PR, and events. I’ve had the privilege of leading several Public Relations initiatives for MKT MIX, working with global fashion houses such as Swarovski, Calvin Klein, and Omega, managing their brand presence and activations. My worked focused on integrating these brands into popular Brazilian soap operas, movies, red carpets, and music videos, which in turn significantly enhanced their visibility. This experience allowed me to hone my skills in creating compelling narratives and engaging campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.

Transitioning into the hospitality sector, I led public relations efforts for Grupo Gitan, a leading hospitality group in Brazil, known for its upscale dining and entertainment events. My effective public relations strategies including media coverage, influencer partnerships with high profile celebrities such as Lewis Hamilton and Alessandra Ambrosio., as well as highly successful community events, transformed Grupo Gitan’s restaurants into celebrity hotspots. The venues garnered attention of esteemed publications such as Vogue France, CNN Brazil, Veja, Harper’s Bazaar, and more. My public relations efforts garnered extensive recognition for Grupo Gitan’s restaurants, elevating the brand’s profile within the highly competitive hospitality market.

I also acted as the Marketing and Hospitality Manager for Como Coworking, a distinguished and modern shared workspace. I was responsible for leading all of the company’s marketing efforts including social media management, organizing promotional events, and implementing strategies to improve customer acquisition and retention.

Given the broad scope of my career, my work as a marketing professional has been recognized at an international level, being featured in numerus high-profile publications including CNN Brazil, Veja Rio, Veja São Paulo, Vogue France, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamurama, and more.

My professional journey has been marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for creating meaningful connections between brands and their audiences. The recognition and success of the projects I’ve led reflect my dedication to my craft and proficiency as a marketing professional.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the early struggles was transitioning from a model to the marketing and PR side of the fashion industry. The shift wasn’t always easy, and at times, it took a lot of effort to establish myself as a credible force in a competitive field. However, my background in modeling provided a unique perspective that allowed me to build strong connections in the industry and deepen my understanding of how to effectively communicate an organization’s brand image and values to their target audience.

Another challenge came when I took on leadership roles in the hospitality sector, particularly at Grupo Gitan. There, I had the responsibility of transforming existing restaurants into celebrity hotspots. It required a great deal of creativity, strategic thinking, and perseverance to create a brand identity that could stand out in a saturated market. This wasn’t a task that could be done overnight, and I had to carefully navigate the balance between maintaining brand integrity and meeting the high expectations of our elite clientele.

Managing large-scale events and securing high-profile press coverage also posed its own set of challenges. Securing the right press placements in high-profile publications such as Vogue France or Harper’s Bazaar Brazil, is exceptionally difficult due to the competitive nature of the industry. However, I remained determined and focused on crafting narratives that would resonate with audiences and capture the attention of these prestigious publications.

It is also imperative as a marketing professional to keep up with social media trends and shifting consumer behaviors. Navigating these changes while maintaining brand relevance posed additional challenges that required constant learning and adapting my marketing efforts to adhere to the ever-evolving landscape of digital marketing. However, I was able to successfully overcome this.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5 to 10 years, I see the marketing and PR landscape continuing to evolve with rapid advancements in technology, particularly around artificial intelligence, data analytics, and immersive digital experiences. The power of personalized marketing will only grow, allowing brands to create more meaningful and tailored connections with their audiences. Social media platforms will remain critical, but I anticipate the rise of new, innovative platforms that redefine how brands engage with consumers. There will also be a deeper integration of virtual and augmented reality, offering new ways to create memorable brand experiences and storytelling.

As the industry evolves, I’m especially excited about the opportunity to merge my passion for music with my expertise in marketing. The music industry is undergoing a massive transformation, from the growing influence of streaming services to the increased importance of social media platforms like TikTok in driving music discovery. I’m eager to contribute to this shift by working directly with artists or within a marketing team that supports them, crafting campaigns that elevate their personal brand and connect with fans in innovative ways. The intersection of creativity, music, and marketing has endless potential, and I’m excited to be a part of shaping that future.
