Daily Inspiration: Meet Eli & Kassandra Carrillo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eli & Kassandra Carrillo.

Hi Eli & Kassandra , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As sisters we always knew our dynamic was entertaining to others even though to us it seemed fairly normal. As young girls, our mother always nurtured our gifts and worked around our personalities to allow a safe space for us to be ourselves. Over time we embraced our differences and as we got older we realized what a beautiful balance we bring into each others life. As first generation Mexican Americans, our notion of living up to our true self became more than just an idea but a daily way of living. We weren’t always as close as we are now but I believe our experiences molded us to prepare ourselves to love and accept each other as we are and to bring others along with us through this journey. We were always really creative women in different aspects in our life but we finally found a platform where our different personalities can co exist and create one safe environment which led us to Double Shot of Carrillo.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We don’t believe anything in this life comes easy. Especially something that requires a lot of work and almost a village to build. We each had to experience pain, loss, disappointment , and humbling experiences to learn the process of the game. Staying true to ourself in a world that expects us to be like everyone else has cost us friendships but it also brought us understanding, knowledge and empathy. Growing pains are part of the human experience and if we allow them to teach us, we can get closer to becoming the best version of ourselves and maybe even closer to our purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are a duo of creative sisters known for our social media presence, built on our personality, creativity, vulnerability, and unapologetic honesty. Through our content, and now our very own podcast, we share real-life experiences and authentic thought processes that resonate, connect, and inspire our community.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
We definitely are working to grow our podcast both physically (new studio, rebranding, merch etc) as well as a brand that stands on not only community but healing and connection. Aside from growing a community we would want our podcast to inspire others to look deep into themselves and remember to focus on their purpose.
