Daily Inspiration: Meet Darious Hart

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darious Hart.

Darious, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started making art work because I realized that the walls at my home were plain. At the time I didn’t really have money so I couldn’t afford to buy art for my walls. I started making art digitally and then it slowly progressed from the computer to the canvas. I discovered that the art I was creating was telling a story, helping me to understand myself. It sent me down a path of learning about consciousness, the mind, and all types of esoteric knowledge that I reflect through my artwork. The things we draw, write, say are all the expression of the soul. So painting and drawing helps me express the depths of my soul. When I’m confused I go to the canvas. When I’m stressed I go to the canvas. No matter what the issue may be, I know that going to the canvas helps me identify the root of the issue. Through creating the soul begins to understand itself. It’s all a reflection.

I am deeply fascinated by the anatomy of the human body, and that’s why I always draw skeletons in my work. The human body is the most advanced piece of technology that we have on this planet.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It is a struggle being an artist not on Instagram. I’ve completely given up with trying to have my work seen through Instagram. Artist now spend more time trying to get the algorithm to show their work rather than creating meaningful art. When the algorithm shows favoritism towards certain types of art, then everyone will try to mimic that art certain type of art. And it doesn’t just stop with just one medium, you see it across all forms of art work. Whether it be music, movies, television, I see a lack of creativity and originality. So I’ve completely deleted social media off of my phone because I see way more cons than pros. I do believe it’s the driving force of why we aren’t seeing as much originality anymore. Social media is the main way artist are seen, so it is tough to not be on it, but i believe that if we collectively take a stand against it then we will see more positive changes for artists while using these apps.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m currently a meteorologist at a weather station. I did 4 years in the marine corps where I worked as a meteorologist.

Any big plans?
I’m currently going to school for physical therapy and also learning how to be a yoga instructor. So those are really the only things, but I’m not sure where I’m going to be honest. I used to look forward to the future, but now I couldn’t care less. Every time I think I know where I’m going, it changes. When you live in the past you’re depressed. When you live in the future you’re anxious. When you live in the present, you’re at peace. I find joy being in the present moment. It’s the only moment that exists. I accept that everything happens exactly when it’s supposed to. When you look towards the future, you ignore the present. It’s called the present moment because it’s a gift. So if I sell my art, that’s great. If I don’t, that’s also great. The blessings that I receive daily are enough to be grateful. Everything else is a bonus. Don’t ignore the present by being so focused on where the future is going. It all always works out. It has always worked out. Life is not a mystery to be solved but a reality to be experienced.
