Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Morrison
Hi Danny, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Danny Morrison. I’ve been a Multimedia Personality for 25+ years in the City of Bakersfield, CA, Fresno, CA and now in the City of Los Angeles, CA.
I’m the Owner & Founder of Danny Morrison Media. A Black-owned and Operated Marketing Agency committed to amplifying the voices of Black and African Americans. Its customized content specializes in “bolstering” Black-owned Businesses and Nonprofits in a continual effort to “Bolster Black LA.”
I’m also an Award-winning Content Creator, Social Influencer, Media Strategist, Community Activist and Motivational Speaker.
Born and raised in the City of Bakersfield, I’ve always known that I would eventually call Los Angeles my home. As great as Bakersfield had been to me, I knew that in order for me to reach a higher community plateau, I needed to take my talents to LA. My overarching purpose has always been one of hope, change, infinite possibilities and all wrapped within a God-centric message.
In 2021, after spending 20+ years creating media in Central California, I was recruited down to Los Angeles by Elston Butler and Tavis Smiley to join the ONLY Black-owned and operated Talk Radio Station West of the Mississippi, KBLA Talk 1580. “The Danny Morrison Show” was truly a dream come true. I finally had the audience that I felt was more receptive to the “pie in the sky” approach that my content had become known for.
And after two years at KBLA, God was redirecting my plans to something even better. I’ve always wanted to own my own content. I’ve always wanted to use my skillset to uplift the voices within my community. Thankfully, God placed the right people in my life to expedite the process here in LA.
Dr. Sonya Christian (Chancellor of California Community Colleges) recruited me to be the face and voice of “The Educate. Elevate. podcast.” An empowering podcast series comprised of one-on-one conversations and live performances created to inspire young Black and African American students to take advantage of their local Community College. God’s Work.
I have also joined forces with Sarah Harris. She’s the President & CEO of The Black Business Association and Editor of Suite Life SoCal Magazine. She and I are in the process of collaborating for our “Bolster Black LA” campaign in an effort to reinforce the importance of “shopping Black” and illuminating the movers and shakers in Black LA. Also God’s Work.
And there’s also “The Danny Morrison Media Show.” One of my brainchildren. A 30-minute broadcast that keeps you informed on what’s happening in and around the Black Community. Highlighting a new Black-Owned Business and multiple nonprofits with each episode.
And then… There’s my “Social Promo.” A Danny Morrison Media creation. My team and I can take ANY brand and “bolster” it with our customized and high-quality scripts, imaging and effects that has paid immediate dividends for multiple clients for years.
From Black Lives Matter to VotingRights/Engagement to Police Brutality, the overarching “DannyMoShow” is a Community Call to Action created for the sole purpose of highlighting our most treasured community advocates, fighting for the underrepresented and underserved, giving a voice to the voiceless and for CHANGE.
And coming soon, my #howlong Healing Tour will find my team and me visiting multiple correctional facilities, youth groups, schools and more throughout California with a musical, spoken word and motivational speaking-filled message of hope and determination. I hope to recreate our Central Cali magic down here in LA. I’ll be seeing you soon, LAUSD!
And lastly… It’s imperative that we start creating #howlong Projects in Los Angeles. Back in 2016, some BRILLIANT creators, Hip-Hop artists and myself created an anti-violence music video entitled “Self Destruction 2.0” that went viral and started a movement (The #howlong Movement) that seeks to organically change societal thinking for young people in light of gun and gang violence.
The following multimedia venture “The Eracism Project” was released in November 2018. A “hybrid term” for “Erase Racism” that took a multicolored cast of Hip-Hop MC’s and gave them a chance to rhyme about how racism affects them in their everyday lives. The project sparked “Eracism Project: Live Discussions” in educational institutions and groups all over Kern County.
And in 2020, Danny Morrison Media released an All-Female “The Reconstruction Project.” A POWERFUL song and music video that tackles the topics of abortion, domestic violence, sexual harassment, rape/sexual assault and other issues to create awareness and empathy in light of the #metoo Movement. It hopes to promote discussion and subsequent healing through everyone that experiences it.
I believe God is calling me to start the next wave of #howlong Projects here in Los Angeles. And it looks as though “Education”,will be the topic of conversation this time. Stay tuned.
So in a nutshell… That’s me. I would be honored to have you follow me on all socials and also consider using Danny Morrison Media to join the BBA and I as we “Bolster Black LA.”
Because remember… You are not by yourself. God’s got you, And because of that… So do we. Be blessed.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been smooth. God only gave me two hands. Yet, he also gave me a brain that refuses to stop and ambition that refuses to quit. And neither of these come with bottomless bank accounts. Funding your own dream is a painstaking process. But I know that if I just continue to keep God’s hands on the steering wheel, we will inevitably reach our destination.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Multimedia Personality, Award-winning Content Creator, Community Activist and Podcaster. What sets me apart is that I’m a 5-tool creator. I like to think that I excel at multiple jobs and genres. And I’m always working at perfecting my craft. I starting my media journey in radio. Now, I’m a radio guy and so much more.
What’s next?
Expanding Danny Morrison Media. The moment when my name is on a building here in Los Angeles. I’ll know I’ve officially made it. Not on the door. Not on business cards. ON THE BUILDING. That’s my dream.
