Daily Inspiration: Meet Clint Torres

Today we’d like to introduce you to Clint Torres

Clint, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My passion for hair and makeup began when I was a kid, watching What Not to Wear. What captivated me most wasn’t just the transformations—it was the skill and excitement of the stylists and makeup artists. They had the power to give someone a fresh attitude and newfound confidence, and witnessing that shift was exhilarating. Seeing guests light up as they became the most self-assured version of themselves sparked my own beauty dream.

I first experimented on my poor sisters when we were kids, they were great sports about their uneven haircuts and blotchy highlights. Later, I pursued a degree in visual communication with an emphasis on graphic design and a minor in photography. My career journey took me through various creative fields, including graphic design, interior design, and even singing for Disney. But eventually, I took the leap and became a hairstylist. With such a diverse creative background, I was able to focus on excelling in the salon, which ultimately led me to become one of the proprietors of Trend Studios in Winter Park, FL.

Once I reached that milestone, I was ready for my next adventure. I packed up, moved to LA, and jumped into the industry at the highest level. My focus shifted toward styling hair and makeup for some of LA’s best, preparing them for events, premieres, and even working on films and TV shows.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all! I’ve always been a creative—something people admire, but what they don’t often realize is that being a creative comes with an insatiable need to keep learning, growing, and dreaming. This constant drive led me to change jobs or move to new places every five years. I never fully recognized this pattern until my dad, who passed away a couple of years ago, pointed it out. He once asked me, “What’s next on your five-year growth calendar?”

That question made me reflect. Looking back, I realized that every major change in my life came from a deep desire for growth—a self-imposed challenge to step outside my comfort zone. I’ve never been afraid to take a risk on myself, even when everything looked perfect to others. Growth has always been my driving force.

And I’m still hungry. Hungry to one day create a space where I can evolve as much as possible—until I’m ready to step into a new role of leading, teaching, encouraging, and inspiring. I want to help other creatives navigate the tough road ahead because I know firsthand that on the other side lies the reward of staying true to yourself.

Whatever your dream looks like, write it down. Let’s talk about it. You can do it. Those aren’t just my words; they’re the words of my incredible friends who believed in me long before I even knew who I was.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In the world of hair and makeup, I’ve had the privilege of learning from the best. I actively sought out masters of their craft, driven by a deep desire to absorb as much knowledge as possible. Because knowledge is power. The moment you think you know enough, you become stagnant. Understanding how mentors navigate hair challenges and makeup techniques has become one of my greatest strengths, and I never stop learning.

What has truly shaped my journey is my willingness to start from the bottom, remain humble, and work relentlessly to grow. These experiences have sharpened my skills and equipped me to do the job—to make my clients feel beautiful. But beyond technique, my greatest superpower lies in something deeper: having a genuine heart for the people I work with.

As stylists, we hold an incredible responsibility. We share intimate spaces with our clients, and that connection goes far beyond aesthetics. My goal isn’t just to make someone look good—it’s to make them feel heard, valued, and at peace. True beauty is more than what we create on the outside; it’s how we help someone feel on the inside. That is the real purpose behind it all.

What matters most to you?
What matters to me most is my happiness, my peace, and keeping my tank full. I often joke that I’m an introvert, but I’ve learned that this isn’t always the best trait for someone in the service industry. Working with clients gives me the opportunity to pour positivity into others, but I’ve realized that in order to do this effectively, I must first ensure my own well-being.

Knowing when I’m running on empty and how to refuel my tank is key to ensuring that my joy shines through, my peace is felt, and I can keep giving. Let’s be real—I’m human. I’ve had to push myself to be more extroverted, and when I don’t monitor my energy or respect my need for stillness and recharging, I notice the impact: I get sick more often, fall into discouraging thoughts, or lose sight of my ultimate goal—being a light in the midst of chaos.
