Today we’d like to introduce you to Bella Stine.
Bella, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started performing when I was 6 after discovering my love for it in elementary school. My parents were supportive and got me into acting, and I started voice training as well. When I was 9, I voiced Lucy in Peanuts on Cartoon Network and Boomerang, and did a Nickelodeon pilot leading alongside Mayim Bialik and a SyFy thriller film with Marisol Nichols and Brian Krause when I was 11. I did musical theatre in elementary school and started doing it professionally at the age of 12.
As I started high school, I got even more into singing and writing. I started releasing music at 16 and since my first ep called, “I Know You’re Awake” has been out, it has had over 300k streams. I plan on releasing more music very soon, and I am super excited for a collab that is in the works with my very talented friend, Adam Angel, who is a co-writer/producer on a song we did together.
I also have been performing the National Anthem a lot for things such as the Padres vs Dodgers and the Clippers vs Cavaliers. I am set to sing for the Padres again this season. I also had performed a solo two nights in Palm Desert for Kristin Chenoweth’s concert tour and have been training at her Broadway Bootcamp in Oklahoma.
I owe a lot of these experiences to my family for encouraging me to work hard and their belief in my passions.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While I am grateful to say I haven’t had huge issues in my career, it has been interesting to navigate the inevitable rejection that comes with being in the entertainment industry, but I learned to deal with that young luckily. I was 12 when I was in the final two for the title role in a Disney+ series and after five rounds, it went to the other person. The sting of not booking a part that you got close to getting never hurt nearly as much after that experience.
With pursuing music, I had to think a lot about what I wanted when it came to how I should present myself. I learned that I wanted to be as authentic as possible to every part of me and not hide it. I love songwriting, but I also love musical theatre. I want to be an artist, but also be perceived as a normal teenage girl, because that’s what I am. I don’t want to fit a mold in hopes that’s what people will like better. I want the music to speak for itself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am currently really working on my singing/songwriting and plan to train those areas more in college. I’ll be attending PLNU for commercial music and communications.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
When you pursue anything in any outlet, always try to find people that you can lean on and also lift up when they need you too. People are everything and make the process so much more fun and rewarding when you’re around the right ones.
