Daily Inspiration: Meet Aya Abramov

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aya Abramov.

Hi Aya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey in skincare began with my mother, who worked as a full-body waxer at a salon. She struggled with a language barrier and lacked a license, which inspired me to pursue an esthetician license. Once I entered the field, I fell in love with skincare and treatments.
At 18, I worked at the Peninsula Hotel, where I was immersed in luxury skincare and a high-end lifestyle. Although I barely spoke English and had limited product knowledge, I was always booked. I knew I had something special with my touch.
After the birth of my youngest daughter, I opened my own business, and 20 years later, I have built it into what it is today. I am grateful to be your guide on this journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s definitely been a long road. The biggest challenges for me have been understanding my value and then having the confidence to charge what I am worth. Once I finally understood this, the right clients came to me and not only matched my energy, but also appreciated my level of expertise.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am known for my creative facials that I customize for every client. For the past 33 years, I have been crafting and curating an extraordinary experience for each and every facial. What sets me apart from others is that I revealed my work on social media about 15 years ago, opening the door into my treatment room with courage while others were afraid to share their secrets. I believed in my work, I believed in my craft and I wanted the world to see how important it is to respect the skin. I also had the confidence to reveal my wisdom knowing that it would elevate other estheticians and not detract from my business. Sharing my knowledge not only elevated my personal business but also elevated me to a place where I can get paid to train others in my craft and I feel the love, support and appreciation from others in doing so.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success comes with passion, passion comes with money.
