Daily Inspiration: Meet Ariana Drummond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariana Drummond.

Hi Ariana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Ariana discovered her passion for communications during her tenure at Hampton University. Currently the Talent and Media Director for NAACP Hollywood Bureau, Ariana has previously worked on creating public relations campaigns for companies and organizations such as; Warner Brothers, BET, STARZ, AT&T, TV One, UNCF and more. She hopes to continue to use her skills to help eliminate racial equity gaps and create additional career pathway opportunities for women and people of color. Her mission is to build a bridge between entertainment and advocacy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
First and foremost, I want to start by giving an honor to God, who is the head of my life. Every opportunity, every lesson, every door that opened — and even the ones that closed — have shaped me into the woman standing here today.
I’ve always believed that there is a rhyme and a reason for everything that happens to you. Everything is by God’s design. Although my life hasn’t been perfect, I am grateful for every experience. I’ve lost jobs that I thought were meant for me, I’ve fallen on hard times, I’ve worked my ass off harder than anyone I know.
My mantra has always been: “Stay in faith and watch God work” and “Envy is the thief of Joy,” Just because your life isn’t going faster than the person next to you – honest mean you’re losing in life. Every journey is going to look differently, so stay focused on your own path and keep your binders up.”

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
NAACP+ recently announced the launch of Inside the Industry, a new original podcast series hosted and Produced by Ariana Drummond. The new series offers an unfiltered look at the entertainment business through one-on-one conversations with the people shaping it. Inside the Industry pulls back the curtain on film, television, music, fashion, sports, and digital culture, spotlighting the creatives, executives, and tastemakers driving today’s entertainment landscape. Through candid, in-depth interviews, each episode explores personal career journeys, current projects, and the realities of navigating both the business and creative sides of the industry.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I’d like to shoutout incredible mother — thank you. Thank you for your sacrifices, your strength, and your unconditional love. Everything I do is rooted in the values you have instilled in me. A huge shoutout to my mentor and VP, Robin Harrison. She inspired me and motivated me to go outside my comfort zone. I appreciate her for pushing me into this new venture.
