Daily Inspiration: Meet Andrew “Dre” “NoBueno”

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew “Dre” “NoBueno”.

Hi Andrew “Dre”, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my journey at age 5, my father was a touring musician in Brazil, when we moved to the states he used to play LINKIN PARK music videos for me, first album I ever remember listening to was hybrid theory and nirvana around that time. I actually got kicked out of kindergarten class for a day for playing “smells like teen spirit” by nirvana in class on the class speaker system. Fast forward to age 11 I DJed my first house party while growing up in Boston, that was the moment I knew I wanted to do this forever. From age 14 to 21 I would Dj all my high school house parties, a few of the high school dances and when I was 18-21: I started playing the local nightlife scene in Boston played at some of the bigger clubs that I had dreamed of playing at like Royale and college festivals opening up for artists like Khalid. Even so, DJing I still wasn’t satisfied. it was around age 20 I moved to Los Angeles to become a solo artist, to become more than a DJ, to be a full blown artist. I want to bring my artistic version and my full force of creativity to change the entire world, to change it for the better and to spread love through my own original music, with videos, and fashion written produced, sung, recorded engineered styled entirely by me, to do something that has never been done before. To show people that you really CAN do it all yourself. This is possible. Nobody’s coming to save you. Nobody will be responsible for your blowup. Once you get that you’re freed by being able to do it yourself.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It never is. However I am grateful for every single obstacle and struggle. each one taught me a valuable lesson that I will never forget.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m known for bringing a rock ‘n’ roll attitude to the world of electronic dance music, some of it is too polished sometimes, it comes off as inauthentic. People love my gritty, grungy sound, and style. I’m also entering the world of fashion, I just launched my clothing brand Create or Die by NoBueno that reflects that rebellious creative energy. I want everybody to know that they are beautiful, powerful creators and to not let anybody tell you otherwise. My motto “create or die” came to me during a meditation a long time ago, we were born to be creators. all of us, and we can fulfill that need to create something special, to not die in slavery of consumerism and inner/outer doubt. I want people to unlock their inner creative power. Albert Einstein said imagination is more important than knowledge.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
“Create or Die” You got this! I Have meditated every day since I was 19, I saw all of this in my meditations, if you can see it, you can do it. You just have to put the work in. Another thing, I had a lot of people project their doubts and disbelief on me and you can’t ever have those around you, if you’re sensitive like me, it’s better to be in solitude than to be in the presence of people that doubt you and don’t want you to be anymore than what you already are. You can always level up, and completely transform into anything you can imagine.
