Daily Inspiration: Meet Alexis Fallon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Fallon.

Hi Alexis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Once upon a time, a twelve year old girl wrote in her diary, “I am going to live in Hollywood and I am going to be a fashion queen.”

Twenty years later, here I am living what I once prayed for. I manifested this.

But the road to getting to this point was not easy. Many doubted and few understood why I would leave the comfort of my family and all I ever knew in Louisiana, to set out on a journey of something bigger than they could even imagine. And as cliche as it sounds – I knew I was destined for more.

As much as social media can get a bad rep, it really is what catapulted my career. Before I became a wardrobe stylist – I was an influencer and model with over 400k followers & a condo with a view of the Hollywood sign. I spent my days taking beautiful photos, traveling the world, and meeting creative people I never imagined along the way!

As much as I loved the glamour and perks of modeling, what truly excited me the most was putting together beautiful outfits for my photoshoots and connecting with new people.

Before I knew it, about a year into modeling, photographers and people in my creative network were taking notice of my natural ability to put looks together on set. I was being asked by models, brands, magazines, photographers, etc if I would help style their photoshoots, campaigns, music videos, etc. I dove headfirst into it with no idea what I was doing, but hey – “ignorance is bliss” right?

At the time nobody knew this, but when I first started building my wardrobe styling portfolio – I was using my own pieces from my closet to put together looks. Because what showrooms or designers were going to lend clothes to a “nobody” stylist?! I had to work my way up and I did what I had to do to make it happen!

A few months into building my portfolio, my hustling started to pay off! Showrooms and designers were now reaching out to me to view their latest collections for any possible looks for my clients. Photoshoot after photoshoot, my network grew and I was being referred to by others for styling.

Looking back, It all happened so quickly, but I truly believe it was because I ignorantly threw myself into something I loved with little to zero hesitation and an eager positive attitude. I said yes to every opportunity, even if I didn’t know how I was going to make it happen. I got comfortable being uncomfortable. I figured things out along the way. Did I make mistakes? Yes, of course. But with every mistake came a new learning lesson and a smarter businesswoman.

Fast forward a few years later and I am in awe of how far that little ignorant 20-something-year-old girl has come. I now receive countless resumes from new stylists asking to assist me in photoshoots so that they can learn from me. Wow – I never saw that coming! & I am so grateful.

Through keeping wonderful connections over the years and jumping into the unknown with faith – I have built a beautiful styling portfolio, an incredible network, and am currently in the process of designing my own womenswear collection. I am beyond excited to dive into this next chapter of fashion and life!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been an easy road!

As a former model/influencer, I had to prove myself “worthy” in the fashion industry and there were many times where I thought maybe I wasn’t good enough because “I didn’t go to fashion school” or “I never assisted anyone”…but none of that was true. Everyone’s journey is different and my love for fashion was something I always carried within me. Your path is your path, don’t let others affect it.

Outside of that, I am also a mother to a beautiful two-year-old boy, River. It can be very challenging trying to balance life as a businesswoman and a mommy. I have brought my son on set with me, to showrooms, fittings at clients’ houses, etc… because I couldn’t afford a sitter at the time. But honestly, that showed I had grit! I always made it work! He is my reason for everything I do.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a wardrobe stylist who specializes in helping women feel and look their best through what they are wearing. I truly believe that fashion is a way of expressing our most authentic selves without having to say a word. When a woman can walk into a room and own it, she is powerful. I love bringing out every woman’s inner goddess through her outfits.

I am most proud of any moment where I made a client feel confident, beautiful, sexy, and powerful.

I think my ability to connect with the women I work with on a deeper level than just clothing is what sets me apart from others. When a woman hires a wardrobe stylist, she is putting herself in a very vulnerable state because she is instilling her faith and trust in me to see every part of her body that she may not like or feel confident in. It’s my job to help her fully embrace it all, to make her feel comfortable, beautiful, and most of all, to just listen to her needs.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe the most important quality to have in success is persistence. It isn’t the most talented who succeed; it is the ones who fail over and over again – yet continue to persist.
