Conversations with Wyatt Sanders

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wyatt Sanders.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey with music started around age four, thanks to a retired pianist babysitter named Miss Linda. She noticed I had a natural ear and encouraged my parents to put me in piano lessons. I started with the Suzuki method at five, which taught me to learn by ear — something that still shapes how I make music today.

I grew up in upstate New York, where music felt like a quiet part of me, until my family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma when I was 12. It felt like starting over, but Tulsa turned out to be a hidden gem — a city rich in arts thanks to its deep investment in culture. I joined a classical conservatory, played youth showcases, and later attended a performing arts high school with the largest private rock band program in the country.

High school was when I really came alive musically — gigging in bands, writing songs, and eventually earning a spot at Berklee College of Music. Through Berklee’s songwriting program, I connected with an LA-based publisher and signed my first deal at 20.

I moved to LA and dove in. It wasn’t an overnight success, but through years of writing sessions, mentors, and friendships, I found my voice. During the pandemic, I began releasing my own music and unexpectedly landed placements in K-pop. That opened a new world to me — teaching me how to write sharper songs and deliver undeniable earworms from even the first demo.

Today, I’m grateful to be doing what I love — writing for artists like BTS Jin, Diplo, NCT Dream, and ENHYPEN, while continuing to build my own artist project.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges for me has been learning to stay present and trust the process — something I’m still working on every day. It’s easy to get caught up in the highlight reels we see online and believe that success follows a straight path. But what you don’t see are the setbacks, the quiet seasons, and the moments of doubt that happen behind the scenes. Over time, I’ve come to realize that success isn’t a destination — it’s finding joy and purpose in the journey itself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an artist, songwriter, and producer known for crafting earworm hooks, lush harmonies, and blending nostalgic influences from the legends who inspired me into modern pop. My work bridges emotional storytelling with sharp melodic instincts — a style that’s led me to collaborate with artists like Diplo, Trippie Redd, BTS Jin, ENHYPEN, NCT DREAM, RIIZE, and more. Whether I’m behind the scenes or on stage, I aim to bring a vibrant, unmistakable sound that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is leading with intention. I want to feel fully invested in whatever I’m working on — and I want to have fun doing it. I’m not interested in phoning it in or pretending to be something I’m not. Especially in today’s world, people crave authenticity. Whether I’m writing an entire song or just contributing a single line, I want it to feel honest and personal. If I’m involved, I want it to mean something.
