Conversations with Tawny Pollard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tawny Pollard.

Hi Tawny, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi there! I’m Tawny—a performer, content creator, and modern-day fairytale enthusiast based in Las Vegas.

Originally from Orange County, California, I began singing and acting professionally at a young age, with a foundation in both classical voice and commercial pop. As a teenager, I competed in and won numerous vocal competitions, and by 18, I had secured my first record deal.

One of the most magical chapters of my career came at 19, when I joined the opening-year cast of Hong Kong Disneyland. During my year abroad, I had the honor of performing as a “friend of” beloved Disney princesses including Belle, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. After returning to the United States, I continued working with Disney in California throughout my early twenties.

Today, I’ve found a unique creative space where all of my passions intertwine. Known online as @tawnyinwonderland, I blend fashion, fantasy, and storytelling to inspire others to romanticize their everyday lives and embrace a touch of magic in the ordinary. I love collaborating with photographers and fellow creatives to transform everyday moments into something whimsical and cinematic.

Beyond content creation, I continue to perform professionally, bringing music to life at fantasy balls and masquerades across the West Coast.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many in the entertainment industry, my journey has been anything but a smooth road. During my years of acting and auditioning, there were far more “no’s” than “yeses”—a reality that can be both humbling and challenging.

One of the most difficult moments came early in my music career. After signing a record deal and working with some of the top pop and R&B producers at the time, I was nearing the completion of my album when the label unexpectedly went bankrupt. The entire project came to a halt, and I was absolutely devastated.

But in hindsight, I truly believe everything happens for a reason. Had that chapter not unfolded the way it did, I may never have been led to the opportunities that followed—especially my time with Disney, which remains one of the most magical and meaningful experiences of my life.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Today, I balance both a “day job” and a passion-driven creative career. In Las Vegas, I work as a tradeshow model, lead generator, and product specialist. An industry I’ve been part of for over 12 years. It’s a fast-paced, ever-changing environment that keeps me on my toes and has allowed me to work with a wide range of companies and clients across the country. While it’s not a path I originally envisioned, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities it’s provided and the experiences it’s brought into my life.

Alongside that, my true passion lies in my creative brand, @tawnyinwonderland. Through my content, I blend fashion, fantasy, and storytelling—bringing whimsical, fairytale-inspired moments to life. I love creating alongside talented photographers, designers, and fellow creatives, often dressing in elaborate gowns and capturing dreamy visuals in magical settings.

My time with Disney remains one of my proudest accomplishments, and the magic I experienced there continues to influence my work today. While many creators embrace “romanticizing life” or “princesscore” aesthetics, my background brings an authenticity to that world that naturally sets my content apart. It’s not just a theme—it’s a piece of my story that I now get to share with others.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’ve always been a bit of a risk-taker (sometimes to my own chagrin) Looking back, my life has been shaped more by leaps of faith than by carefully mapped plans.

Thankfully, I’ve been blessed with an incredibly supportive family who were always there to catch me when I fell. That foundation gave me the confidence to take big chances, knowing I was never truly alone. In many ways, it made me fearless.

One of my earliest leaps was choosing to take my GED during my sophomore year of high school, allowing me to graduate two years early and fully pursue my career. I didn’t follow a traditional college path, as I was already immersed in recording my album at the time. When my record label unexpectedly folded, I found myself at a crossroads, uncertain of what direction my life would take next.

Not long after, I made another bold and deeply personal decision: I auditioned for Hong Kong Disneyland without telling my family. I had never been out of the country, and suddenly I was considering moving across the world to Southeast Asia for a year. When I was cast, I took the leap—leaving everything familiar behind to step into the unknown.

At the time, I had no idea where that decision would lead. But it became one of the most transformative and magical chapters of my life, reminding me that sometimes the greatest rewards come from the risks that feel the most uncertain.
