Conversations with Simone Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Simone Johnson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a visionary born in Connecticut and currently based in Los Angeles, CA. I’m determined to expand my gift of musical therapy to all. I’m rooted from a long line of legendary entertainers, so the love of Arts & Theater has always been within me. I’ve spent several years performing, touring and filming with well-known companies. Such as Disney, Warner Brothers, ABC and more. I’ve also opened for musicians such as Tyrese and more. My singing started as a young child in the church and continued to grow. My diversity in music makes me a well-rounded artist, but it’s truly life’s lessons that make me such a relatable artist. My music is genuine and organic. My favorite genres would be Soul, R&B, Pop, Hip-hop, Jazz and Gospel. With an appreciation for techno and any free energy vibes.

As a strong vocalist who loves to travel, I’m always eager to share my voice with the world, spreading the joy of singing, songwriting, and touching souls. Also, being that voice to encourage, restore, and replace. I’m very family balanced but driven by the Arts.

My main Influencers are Anita Baker, Rihanna, Lauren Hill and Fantasia. I studied music starting at the age of 3yrs old. The Artist Collective, to The Heart School of Music-Broadway for kids and The Hartford Conservatory. I’ve been also told that I have an aura, a light of peace. Bringing positive influence to the world through song.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve had family issues starting as a young child, fighting for a voice.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m proud of my determination and my eagerness to succeed. And that I had the courage and faith to move to Los Angeles, California, to fulfill my dreams. I’m thankful for the opportunities and the doors that are opening up. I hoping to share my stories, my testimonies, and my voice (gifts) to the world.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in the right place and the right timing. I had a lot of things hindering my growth but now I have overcome those obstacles.
