Today we’d like to introduce you to Sergio Rondon.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story began in Venezuela, where I discovered my passion for communication, creativity, and storytelling. That passion eventually led me to become an entrepreneur and build Engloba Marketing, my own marketing agency, while also developing my career as a content creator.
Travel has always been one of my greatest passions. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to explore nearly 40 countries, discover different cultures, and share those experiences with others. What started as something I simply loved doing gradually became an important part of my personal and professional identity.
Moving to Los Angeles opened another chapter in my life. Building a life in a different country has taught me about resilience, independence, and the importance of embracing change.
But one of the most defining moments of my journey was facing cancer. That experience completely changed my perspective on life. It reminded me how precious time is, how quickly everything can change, and why we shouldn’t keep postponing the things that make us happy.
Going through that experience made me appreciate life differently. I became more intentional about creating memories, traveling, pursuing my dreams, and enjoying the present instead of constantly waiting for the perfect moment.
Today, I continue running my marketing agency, creating content, traveling, and collaborating with brands that align with my passions. I’m proud of what I’ve built, but I’m even more grateful for the person I’ve become along the way.
If there’s one thing my journey has taught me, it’s that life doesn’t always go according to plan, but sometimes the unexpected chapters are the ones that give our story the most meaning.
I don’t believe my story is about how far I’ve come. I believe it’s about everything I still want to experience, create, and share.
And after everything I’ve been through, I can confidently say that I’m just getting started.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. My journey has been filled with challenges, unexpected changes, and moments that have pushed me far beyond my comfort zone.
Leaving Venezuela and building a new life in Los Angeles was one of those challenges. Starting over in a different country means adapting to a new culture, finding your place, and learning to navigate opportunities and uncertainties. Even when you’re excited about a new beginning, it doesn’t mean the process is easy.
As an entrepreneur, I’ve also learned that building a business requires much more than passion. There have been difficult decisions, moments of uncertainty, and times when things didn’t go as planned. Running a marketing agency while developing my personal brand has taught me patience, discipline, and the importance of believing in my vision.
But without a doubt, one of the hardest challenges I’ve faced was being diagnosed with cancer. Suddenly, things that once seemed so important became secondary. My priorities changed, and I had to confront uncertainty in a completely different way.
That experience taught me something I carry with me every day: life is happening right now. We spend so much time planning for the future that sometimes we forget to appreciate the present.
I don’t want to romanticize difficult experiences, because some moments are simply hard. But I do believe we can choose what we take away from them.
Today, I see success differently. It’s not just about professional achievements, traveling to new destinations, or reaching certain milestones. It’s also about being healthy, having the freedom to do what I love, and appreciating the opportunity to keep creating new memories.
My road hasn’t been smooth, but every chapter has helped shape who I am today. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that we don’t always get to choose what happens to us, but we can choose how we move forward.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an entrepreneur, marketing professional, and travel and lifestyle content creator originally from Venezuela, now based in Los Angeles.
I’m the founder of Engloba Marketing, a creative marketing agency based in Venezuela, where we help brands develop their identity, strengthen their digital presence, and connect with their audiences through creative strategies, storytelling, and content production.
Alongside my agency, I’ve built my personal brand around one of my greatest passions: traveling. Having explored nearly 40 countries, I create content that combines travel, culture, gastronomy, and lifestyle, sharing authentic experiences and inspiring people to discover new destinations.
One of the most exciting parts of my career has been the opportunity to collaborate with brands, including Copa Airlines®, creating content that connects people with destinations and experiences around the world.
What I enjoy most about my work is the ability to combine creativity with real experiences. I don’t believe content should simply look beautiful. It should tell a story, create an emotional connection, and give people a reason to engage.
What sets me apart is my ability to approach content from two perspectives: as a marketing professional who understands brand strategy and as a traveler who genuinely enjoys discovering and sharing the world. I understand both the business behind the message and the emotion behind the experience.
What I’m most proud of is building a career that allows me to pursue different passions without having to choose just one. I’ve been able to grow a business in Venezuela while developing new opportunities internationally, proving to myself that where you come from doesn’t have to define how far you can go.
For me, success isn’t just about numbers, followers, or professional recognition. It’s about creating meaningful work, building lasting relationships, and having the freedom to continue exploring, learning, and evolving.
And that’s exactly what I hope to keep doing.
What does success mean to you?
For me, success is no longer just about professional achievements, financial stability, or recognition. It’s about having the freedom to live a life that genuinely makes me happy.
Over the years, my definition of success has changed. I’ve learned that you can accomplish incredible things professionally, but if you’re not enjoying the journey, something is missing.
After facing cancer, I began to see success from a completely different perspective. Being healthy, waking up with new opportunities, spending time with the people I love, traveling, discovering new places, and creating meaningful memories became just as important as any professional milestone.
Of course, I’m ambitious. I love building businesses, creating content, working with brands, and setting new goals for myself. But I’ve also learned that success isn’t just about reaching the next destination. It’s about appreciating where you are right now.
I believe real success is being able to look at your life and feel proud, not only of what you’ve accomplished, but also of the person you’ve become along the way.
And perhaps my favorite definition of success is this: having the freedom to choose how I spend my time, the courage to pursue what makes me happy, and the opportunity to keep experiencing everything this beautiful world has to offer.
Because at the end of the day, I don’t just want to build a successful career. I want to build a life worth remembering.
