Today we’d like to introduce you to Precious Enaohwo.
Precious, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Expressing myself through style has always felt natural to me. It wasn’t until graduating from Spelman College where I made the decision to take this natural love seriously. I studied psychology which ended up shaping how I approach fashion today.
After graduating, I moved to Los Angeles and began working at the flagship Louis Vuitton store on Rodeo Drive. That experience gave me a strong foundation in luxury, client experience, and the level of detail required at the highest standard. Around that time, I also had the opportunity to attend Paris Fashion Week, which really expanded my perspective on the industry and what was possible.
From there, I spent several years assisting established stylists, working on red carpets, editorial shoots, and television projects. That period was extremely formative. I learned the technical side of styling, how to navigate fast-paced environments, and how to build relationships within the industry.
Eventually, I transitioned into leading my own projects and building my brand, Couture Moments. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to style incredible talent, including Gabourey Sidibe, Amber Wallin, Gail Bean, Taylor Polidore Williams, and so many more incredible people and projects. My work has been featured in publications like Vogue, Forbes, The Cut, and Hello Beautiful, which has been incredibly rewarding.
Today, I see my work as more than just putting clothes together. I focus on helping my clients tell a story through their style and step into a more confident, intentional version of themselves. Everything I’ve done so far has really been about building toward that purpose and continuing to grow within it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most creative careers, there have been a lot of highs, but also a lot of uncertainty in between.
In the beginning, one of the biggest challenges was simply getting my foot in the door and being taken seriously. Styling is a very relationship-driven industry, so building trust and credibility took time. I spent years assisting, learning, and proving myself before I was consistently given opportunities to lead.
Financial inconsistency was another real challenge. There were periods where work wasn’t steady. When the writers strike happened here in Los Angeles, everyone felt it. There are bills that need to be paid, yet you still need to invest in your career. Times like that have forced me to become resourceful, disciplined, and very clear about the value I bring.
I’ve also had to navigate moments of self-doubt. Being in an industry where you’re constantly surrounded by talent and comparison can make you question yourself. There were times I didn’t feel seen or felt like I wasn’t progressing fast enough. But those moments pushed me to get clearer on my identity, my voice, and what makes my perspective unique.
Overall, the challenges have really shaped me. They’ve helped me build resilience, strengthen my vision, and approach my work with more intention and confidence.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a celebrity stylist and creative director, and I lead my brand, Couture Moments. My work focuses on styling talent for red carpets, press, editorial shoots, and key career moments, but at the core of it, I specialize in helping clients develop a clear and intentional style identity.
What really defines my approach is my background in psychology. I don’t just focus on what looks good, I focus on why it works. I think about how clothing shapes perception, confidence, and narrative. When someone feels truly seen in what they’re wearing, it can shift how they carry themselves, how they show up, and how they move through the world.
What I’m most proud of, beyond the work itself, is my faith and my ability to stay the course. This industry can be unpredictable, and there have been moments where it would have been easy to give up. But my faith has kept me grounded and focused, even during the harder seasons. It’s a big part of who I am and how I move through my life and career.
I’m also proud of the way I show up for people. I’m known for my work, but also for my passion, my friendships, and the love I give. The relationships I’ve built with my clients and peers mean a lot to me, and I value being someone people can trust and feel supported by.
But more than anything, what sets me apart is that I don’t see styling as surface-level. I see it as storytelling, transformation, and alignment. My clients aren’t just well-dressed, they’re stepping into a fuller version of themselves.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
For me, networking has never been about just meeting as many people as possible. It’s about building real relationships and being intentional about how you show up.
One of the biggest things that helped me early on was assisting. That’s how I was able to learn directly from experienced stylists, understand how the industry actually works, and build genuine connections over time. Being reliable, having a strong work ethic, and bringing a good attitude into every space made people want to keep me around and recommend me.
When it comes to finding a mentor, I don’t think it always has to be a formal relationship. Some of the most valuable guidance I’ve received came from people I worked with briefly or observed closely. Pay attention to people whose careers you respect, study how they move, and don’t be afraid to reach out in a thoughtful and respectful way. And cold emails work! Don’t be afraid to send those pitches!
I also think it’s important to be patient and stay grounded in who you are. Not every connection will turn into an opportunity, and that’s okay. The right relationships will align over time.
