Today we’d like to introduce you to Paloma Rodriguez

Hi Paloma, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was looking to start something of my own that could help me save money to move out and generate a second form of income. Shortly after learning my new skill I was laid off from my 9-5 role and decided to pursue entrepreneurship full time. I realized how naturally my new skill came to me and how talented I was early on, this gave me the confidence to continue working towards it. I have been lashing for 2 years and 8 months and although I have many goals to accomplish I feel I have reached many milestones thus far. I am eager to see what else this endeavor brings in the future.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I look back sure it seems smooth because time flies, and when you’re doing something you love and worth doing you can only look back and feel accomplished. However, in the moment entrepreneurship is extremely difficult. There are always obstacles on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis. There are endless sacrifices you have to make and quite often can just be overwhelming. Even in the days I felt like I was drowning I was happy to still be running afloat, I was always thankful for where I was and grateful for where I have been. On days I felt like throwing in the towel I thought of all the sacrifices I made and never wanted them to be in vain. I think falling in love with the process and the struggles that it comes with is what keeps me going and looking forward to the future and what’s to come. My resilience is impressive I surprise myself everyday, it’s different when the only person you can let down is yourself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe starting over especially in my late 20’s was a risky move. Entrepreneurship is a risky move. Betting on yourself and using every last dime is a risky move. High risk high reward though. Betting on myself has been the biggest blessing and I have gained the confidence to achieve any goal I set my mind to. I believe the best things in life are on the other side of fear, don’t be fearful take the risk!
