Today we’d like to introduce you to Odette Dragossaer.
Hi Odette , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up in the film industry, I longed to create something beautiful, Stories, art, animation, novels, until one day I decided to make it happen.
In the span of barely over a year, I wrote and published my first novel that has gone all the way to print, as well as serialized 2 more.
As I continue to write the story, scenes and world that will revolve a live game that will be airing in Q3 of this year, and the script of an animated series that takes place within the same world.
The art I create has been flourishing for the love of art as well as to bring the world in these stories to life in paintings, illustration and animation.
While I have worked and completed much of this on my own, I am forever grateful for those I have worked with to help bring these projects to life.
I am honored to have created a community that can and has come together, contributing small pieces in each their own way, building up to make something beautiful for both the flagship productions of The Gem Lab as well as with each other.
To have the opportunity to create something real and authentic, created by only real people, in a digital age with so many creative people is one of my greatest pride and joy. And while much of the work of The Gem Lab rests on my shoulders, it is something I would never give up in a million lifetimes, this chance, this ability and freedom to make my dreams come true.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has not been an easy one.
While in this day and age, finances is always going to be the biggest struggle for anyone, the biggest challenges such as theft and infringement, making sure both the people and the work they create are real, and making sure that all that are with best intent.
I always wish the best of people but there had been times where real people have tried to take advantage of all together my production, the people that work with me, and the community that has grown around it; infringing on copyright, fraud, and stalking.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize equally writing as much as I do with art as they been a skill I’ve loved for as long as I had access to a pencil and I am known for both.
I am known for my book collection “Legacy” and the live game that is set to release in Q3, “Oath of the Silenced”.
Both Legacy and Oath of the Silenced are my pride but Legacy’s “The First Tsaritsa” has made its way into becoming its own independent novel that has made its way to print.
I am proud of the very first book I wrote to finish that spanned 240 pages all written by hand and I am proud of each piece of art that I create, to pick would feel like trying to have a favorite pet when you have multiple.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Finding good and honest people has been the luckiest part of my journey and having both of my partners by my side Hayk and “Gray” by my side, supporting and cheering me on with every step of the journey.
Knowing that I have support and that I’m not alone is an incredible blessing that I feel not enough people have but also too easily overlook.
