Conversations with Marcela Iglesias

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcela Iglesias.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and from a young age, I dreamed of something bigger. At 20 (or around 22), I took a huge leap and moved to the United States with just $3,000 in my pocket. The first years were tough — I lived as an undocumented immigrant, worked odd jobs, and even started as a movie extra in Hollywood. But I never gave up.
I hustled hard: I built businesses from the ground up, invested in real estate, launched a successful mobile spray tanning company called Beyond Tan, and later created The Plastics of Hollywood — my talent management and lifestyle brand. Along the way, I became a singer (my first single, “Human Doll,” was a vibe!), TV personality on shows like Rica, Famosa, Latina, and a real estate investor.
Through it all, I transformed myself into the Human Barbie and Queen of Hollywood you know today. It’s been decades of hard work, glam, wellness routines, and an unbreakable mindset. Now I’m a self-made millionaire living my dream in LA, inspiring women everywhere to own their power and never stop evolving.
Darling, the journey wasn’t always easy, but it was so worth it! 🌟

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
¡Ay, mi amor! 💖 No, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all. The journey was full of bumps, tears, and moments where I wanted to give up… but I never did.
When I first arrived in the US, after my visa expired, I was undocumented, with very little money, and didn’t speak perfect English. I worked crazy hours — sometimes three jobs at once — while raising my son and supporting my parents. The early years were really tough.
The hardest part? I was in a very bad marriage with my first husband. There was physical and psychological abuse, and it broke me for a while. But one day, I decided enough was enough. I left, started over, and became the sole provider for my family. That’s when I truly learned how strong I am.
There were many nights of doubt, financial struggles, and people who didn’t believe in me. But every challenge made me tougher and more determined. That’s why I always say: your struggles are preparing you for your glow-up.
Now I look back, and I’m so grateful, because without those hard times, I wouldn’t be the Queen of Hollywood you see today. ✨

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
From an artist and creator perspective, my work is my entire life — it’s my passion, my art, and my way of inspiring the world.
What I do & what I specialize in:
I’m a multi-passionate creator:

Talent manager & lifestyle brand founder of The Plastics of Hollywood — my baby! It’s a talent management company and movement for bold, transformed, unapologetic people (especially women) who embrace plastic surgery, beauty enhancements, and total reinvention.
Singer & recording artist — I’ve released singles like “Human Doll” and “It’s Barbie Bitch.” My music is fun, empowering, and very on-brand.
TV personality & actress (SAG-AFTRA member) — known from Rica, Famosa, Latina and various reality shows.
Content creator & influencer — The Human Barbie / Queen of Hollywood with over a million followers, where I share my glam life, wellness routines, and transformation journey.
Entrepreneur — I’ve built businesses from spray tanning to real estate investing, and even a fitness equipment line.

I’m most known for being the Human Barbie who turned her own extreme transformation into a full lifestyle brand and movement. I celebrate the “plastic” life in a positive, empowering way.
What am I most proud of?
I’m most proud of creating The Plastics of Hollywood — a safe space where people feel proud of their surgical journeys instead of ashamed. It’s not just business; it’s a revolution. I’m also incredibly proud of going from arriving with $3,000 and being undocumented to becoming a self-made millionaire who helps other women glow up and own their power.
What sets me apart?
My authenticity and fearlessness. In a world where everyone tries to look “natural,” I proudly say: I’m enhanced, I’m artistic, and I’m owning every inch of it. I combine Latin fire, Hollywood glam, business hustle, and real vulnerability. I’m not just another pretty face — I’m a creator who builds empires while staying myself unapologetically. I turn my life into art.
That’s my magic, darling. ✨

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Great question — luck has played a role, but it’s never been the main character in my story.
Bad luck? Oh yes, plenty of that early on. Arriving undocumented with only $3,000, not speaking fluent English, and ending up in a toxic, abusive marriage that almost broke me. Those were dark times where I felt like the universe was testing me hard. There were moments of financial stress, rejection, and feeling completely alone while raising my son and supporting my family.
But here’s the truth, darling: I’ve always believed we create our own luck. Good luck came when I started saying “yes” to opportunities, even when I was scared. Being in the right place at the right time to get my first movie extra gig, meeting the right people who opened doors for my spray tanning business (Beyond Tan), and later timing the launch of The Plastics of Hollywood perfectly with the rise of social media and people craving authenticity around transformations.
Some doors opened through pure hustle, but others felt like divine timing — like when TV shows found me or when my message started resonating with thousands of women who were tired of hiding their enhancements.
What I’m most proud of is that I never waited for luck to save me. I worked three jobs, left the bad marriage, educated myself in real estate and business, and kept evolving. Luck is nice when it shows up, but mindset, discipline, and relentless action are what turned me into the Queen of Hollywood.
At the end of the day, I make my own fortune — and I help others do the same. ✨
