Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Roberts
Hi Laura, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey in telling people’s stories through interior design began after I graduated from Boston University with a degree in filmmaking. I started my career as a set decorator and production designer in New York City, creating character-driven environments for various independent films and commercials. To further my career in the film industry, I moved to Los Angeles, bringing my passion for design with me. My transition to residential interiors happened when I had the opportunity to design my first client’s home. At that moment, I realized I had found my true calling. I furthered my knowledge by attending the UCLA Extension interior design program and taking various fine art classes. For over a decade, I honed my skills as a senior interior designer for some of the most prestigious interior design and architecture firms in Los Angeles. During this time, I contributed to high-end residential and celebrity projects worldwide in locations such as London, Dubai, Palm Beach, Aspen, Scottsdale, Newport Beach, and Los Angeles, among others. This invaluable experience led to establishing my own interior design firm in 2016.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur is never easy, especially in a creative field like interior design, which is deeply personal. It requires a blend of creative vision, technical knowledge, strong client communication skills, and the ability to manage tight deadlines and budget constraints. Additionally, navigating complex project logistics is essential while striving to meet diverse client expectations and preferences.
Having worked for several years at other firms before starting my own business provided me with a solid foundation to build upon. However, many lessons were learned along the way, and I continue to learn every day—from my clients, my team, and every challenge that comes my way.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

I am incredibly grateful for the many opportunities I have had throughout my life. I also appreciate the hardships, as they have strengthened my resolve and heightened my determination. I feel fortunate on so many levels that it’s hard to express. To all the individuals—clients, mentors, and cherished colleagues—who know who they are, I want to say that I would not be where I am today, nor would I have my business, without the luck of knowing them and benefiting from their contributions.
