Kaye, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a licensed cosmetologist with over 16 years of experience in the beauty industry. As the proud owner of Dash Exchange Salon in Beverly Hills, I am dedicated to making hair my life’s work and passion. Throughout my professional journey, I have continuously pursued new knowledge and techniques to stay ahead of trends, producing the most sought-after healthy hair results. My expertise is rooted in healthy hair, and I am honored to help women achieve their desired hair goals by creating a personalized hair routine for them. Over the past year, I’ve been able to grow my Instagram following to 71k through studying and mastering the art of social media marketing. It’s sincerely humbling to share my God-given talents with the world, enabling me to inspire, educate and serve globally.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has the journey been without bumps?

I have encountered numerous challenges in this industry, ranging from working for free to acquire knowledge and networking opportunities to enduring long hours on set to be a part of the groundbreaking shows that paved the way for reality shows today. Instead of viewing difficult situations as insurmountable, I try to see them as fresh opportunities to learn how to navigate my own emotions and seek knowledge from these trials. Prayer plays a significant role in my journey, with God being a guiding force throughout my transitions in the hair industry.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am not just a hairstylist but also a trusted confidant, a therapist, and a creative director in the lives of many women. I am dedicated to serving my clients in every way possible within my salon. I am there to lend an ear, engage in meaningful conversations, and offer assistance when needed. My expertise lies in helping clients achieve their personal hair goals, whether it is improving manageability, retaining length, replicating a specific hairstyle, or providing unbiased advice. However, what truly sets me apart is not just my skills in styling hair but the essence and spirit I bring to the salon experience.

One of my proudest accomplishments is becoming the woman I aspired to be while in beauty college. I always envisioned myself working in a bustling city, maintaining a fully booked schedule, being at the forefront of innovation, and contributing to the ever-evolving beauty industry. The fact that I have owned my salon for over nine years and have become a respected figure in my community fills me with immense pride.

What makes you happy?
God brings me immense joy, and I am incredibly grateful for the blessings He has bestowed upon my life. His presence keeps me grounded and centered. My inner circle also plays a significant role in my happiness. I am fortunate to have loving and supportive parents who have instilled in me qualities of humility and gratitude, keeping me steady and rooted. Moreover, my amazing 6-year-old son is the light of my life, and he has undoubtedly shaped me into the person I am today. Lastly, my best friend Nicole is my biggest cheerleader and supporter. She empowers me during times of low spirits and fills any space with positive energy when I am at my best. Their presence in my life brings me the utmost happiness.
