Today we’d like to introduce you to Karina Marquez

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started creating content 7 years ago on YouTube with goals to be a famous youtuber just like the ones I grew up watching but it was hard to stay consistent while both going to school and working so it wasn’t until I graduated college in 2021 that I was able to put more time into content creating and I landed my first ever brand deal soon after! I now have platforms on not only YouTube but on Instagram and TikTok as well and I’ve made lots of progress in my journey but it’s still just the beginning for me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road and it’s honestly more of a mental battle than anything which is something any creative will tell you. It’s easy to fall into self-doubt or have feelings of imposter syndrome when you pursue a career like this but I know this is what I love and enjoy and it’s what I’m good at! It’s helpful to remind myself of my progress and to celebrate every win.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I create content on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. My content consists of beauty videos especially hair and makeup as well as lifestyle vlogs where I show my wellness habits, travel destinations, and my daily life! I’m most proud of my authenticity in all of my content as well as using my platform to speak up for my audience during injustice.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I am blessed enough to have multiple good memories from my childhood but the first one that comes to mind is the day my family and I went to an aquarium in the Dominican Republic on our trip there to visit family. It was a beautiful day with my parents, sisters, and my late abuela. The photo I have with my abuela from that day is one of my favorites.
