Today we’d like to introduce you to Kai Ellison.
Hi Kai , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in the Southern California, Ventura County area surfing all the way from Santa Barbara, to Ventura to Malibu my whole life and performing in music projects. One after another led to bigger projects and now I am currently a music producer for all different types of music genres including edm and film scoring and my musical name goes by Radical Kai. Radical Kai has a lot of releases coming out for the year 2026 as well as a children’s book called “Radical Kai” hopefully in 2027. I also started a sparkling water company called the Rad Can Sparkling water with medicinal mushrooms like Lions Mane, Reishi and more. The first store it was ever in was called Vitamin Barn in Malibu, CA. (I want to thank Gene for giving me that opportunity). And now, Rad Can is in over 480 stores and expanding into Greater Seattle, WA.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a very rough road. Every struggle an aspiring entrepreneur/artist has dealt with, I’ve been down that road and still going down the road. Just remember, challenges come in different sizes, shapes and forms, when you least expect it and when you see it coming from a mile away. They can be emotionally tied such as self doubt, prejudice and racism, which I’ve experienced or could be the days where you only had $5 in your pocket and uncertainty is at its highest.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am currently a music producer for all different types of music genres including edm and film scoring, and my musical name goes by Radical Kai. It is Radical because I flip genres and have a unique sound. I’m pretty proud to have recently scored an Amazon Prime movie called “GOT U” and currently working with American singer Ellona Santiago on a couple releases coming out in 2026, mega music producer Chico Bennett and UK singer Mijan Owens on some releases as well. I do tech and am part of launching Rad Can Sparkling Water in Southern California.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Stay humble and hungry and understand change is going to happen. Once it happens, learn to adapt and overcome. Your career is a marathon not a sprint, so remember to keep that chin up when working and have fun expressing your god given gift and talents. Also move with love, be a decent human being and always think of helping other people outside of your comfort zone. And be consistent with it all.
