Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaia Huron.
Hi Isaia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Originally, I started out at eight years old rapping at church block parties and it eventually turned into a cute career…like Alvin and The Chipmunks or something for Christians. And after I grew out of that, “that” being the cuteness of it, I transitioned into drums. I was playing drums professionally from the age of 14 all the way up until the pandemic. When the pandemic hit, there was uncertainty about where I was going next, and I wanted to give a shot at seriously being an artist. And here we are today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, I am an introvert, so the ways of the music business require me to be out of my comfort zone. That’s been something that I’ve been trying to get used to since I started. Just going and meeting people and networking has been….It’s come with its challenges, but I’m getting through and trying to find my own way to navigate this thing.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I just make art. And I’m proud of my art. How people experience, my art is personal to themselves. So what am I known for? Tell me!
What matters most to you?
Understanding. Because if we all took the time to try to understand, the world would be a better place, one-by-one. I truly feel that. I see it in my everyday life. I see it through how I care about music and how my process is. I just see it in everything, and it all parallels. So, yea, understanding.
