Hi Haruka, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
So back in 2019, I decided to take the plunge and get my brows microbladed. It was a game-changer for me – no more struggling to draw eyebrows every morning! The results were amazing, and I knew I wanted to dive deeper into permanent makeup. Fast forward to early 2020, I went for ombre powder brows and asked the salon owner if she could teach me. Turns out, she said yes! I was a bit unsure about jumping into the beauty industry without any prior experience, but then the pandemic hit. That unexpected twist pushed me to finally pursue my passion for permanent makeup.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t a smooth journey for me. Growing up with only a brother, I never dabbled in girly activities like makeup or styling hair, so working on someone’s face was a whole new and challenging experience. After completing my course, I practiced on numerous free models, but each time I didn’t achieve the desired results, it was disheartening. The mapping aspect was particularly tough for me, leading me to watch countless YouTube tutorials and even take two additional mapping courses on top of three other ombre powder brows courses.
