Today we’d like to introduce you to Graham Bishop.
Hi Graham, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I never imagined that where I started would lead me to somehow becoming a full time filmmaker in Los Angeles, with an award-winning debut film (Density 2025) closing its festival circuit, and a new film coming soon, “Dorma”, currently in pre-production. Beginning with a pair of drumsticks, my creative origins were mainly channeled through music, jamming with friends in basements until it slowly progressed into a career choice. Music then transitioned into film through shooting friends music videos, combining both art forms in the best way. Over the past several years of working with incredible artists, brands, and people (Vogue, Nike, Travis Barker, Stephen Marley, etc) I fell in love with narrative story telling and the impact it can have.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It feels like its been several winding roads paralleling and intersecting into the scenic route I find myself on now, still not a straight line, but a beautiful journey I’m learning to recognize more often.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Director and Cinematographer who loves to find new ways to tell visual stories. My latest film “Dorma” is currently being casted in pre-production, preparing to be funded to film in the Fall of 2026, and I have never been more excited or driven about a project. It is a story I believe is incredibly important to tell in today’s worldly conditions, calling to action many relevant social injustices that our society is normalizing in real time. I think this project will set itself apart from other stories through it’s raw direct approach, spotlighting essential topics across human rights and collective defiance.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I think my musical background is often over-shadowed by my current film career, which makes my first few years in LA playing in bands feel like a different life time. I often incorporate my music into visual projects, creating additional scores for narrative stories when needed.
