Conversations with Erin Yoo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Yoo.

Erin Yoo

Hi Erin, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
It all started with my deep passion for theater, where I found both joy and comfort on stage. I fell in love with storytelling and acting so I made the bold decision to pursue acting in Los Angeles, the epicenter of the entertainment industry. After auditions after auditions and many challenges and lessons, I shot my first featured film, “Smoking Tigers,” which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

And I am currently in Vancouver still chasing my dreams as an actor.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to pursuing my acting dreams hasn’t always been smooth. Being away from home and family, I experienced bouts of loneliness, which was really hard. Living in Los Angeles, known for its high cost of living, I faced a lot of financial difficulties as well.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an actor who loves both film and theatre. My proudest accomplishment is my role in the featured film “Smoking Tigers.” This project holds a very special place in my heart. The opportunity to collaborate with incredibly talented individuals was truly priceless. Knowing that I have a supportive peers and mentors motivates me to continue pushing myself as an actor.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love Los Angeles for its beautiful weather and vibrant entertainment industry. It is such an artistic city full of aspiring artists. However, I do feel like the living cost in LA can be very difficult for a lot of younger artists who want to make a career.
