Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Chan
Hi Diana , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Diana Chan Kessinger is the creative director and founder of Blooming Wyld, a brand that blends her deep love for design with her journey as a mother and an artist. With over 20 years of experience in the movie and television industry, Diana has styled and designed for A-list celebrities, top fashion brands, and major networks. Her portfolio, showcasing her work is available at dianachanstylist.com.
In the midst of the 2020 COVID shutdown and the writer’s & actor’s strike, Diana felt a calling to create something personal and grounded—a space to share her love for nature, beauty, and handcrafted art. And so, BLOOMING WYLD was born. Rooted in the belief that life is a continuous journey of growth and transformation, Diana now channels her creative energy into designing bespoke florals and handmade goods that evoke joy, intentions and everlasting memories.
For Diana, this journey is as much about nurturing her own spirit as it is about nurturing others. It’s about slowing down and appreciating the beauty that surrounds us every day—taking time to reflect and create quality, sustainable goods for the home, the safe sanctuary where we gather and grow. Through BLOOMING WYLD, she invites you to discover beauty in the wild, celebrate life’s seasons, and bring a little bit of bohemian magic into your everyday life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The struggles of starting a small business is getting the traction, sales and exposure. In addition, I have do it all which is overwhelming at times.
Luckily, I’ve been very fortunate that my business jump started very quickly. Right from the beginning, I’ve signed a contract and lease to a store front called “Open Market OC ” which is a company based in Orange County that showcases small businesses like myself. You can shop my dried flowers, jewelry and accessories at the San Clemente Outlets location at Open Market OC or stop by at my pop-up events in 2025.
I’ve gotten accepted to all of the prestigious curated markets in Los Angeles like Renegade Craft, Unique World, West Coast Craft, Patchwork, Markets for Makers, Mermade and Jackalope all within a year of launching the brand. Excited and thrilled to be accepted to these markets and having a store front, sometimes the traffic and low attendance affect the sales. The struggle is not making enough sales to pay for your vendor fee; therefore, you’re losing profit or breaking even. I’ve experienced a few unsuccessful markets in Los Angeles. It is quite discouraging at times. But when I do experience a successful profitable market, it feels pretty remarkable knowing my products are selling but more importantly connecting with the costumers and sharing my personal artwork.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve taken some small risks with applying to a lot of pop-up markets in LA and trying different consignment companies. I’ve learned that sometimes it’s the location and clientele that might not work well with your brand.
