Conversations with Debbie Rothstein

Today we’d like to introduce you to Debbie Rothstein.

Hi Debbie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After a full and diverse career in Los Angeles as an actress, singer, dancer, voice actress, choreographer, and composer; and then behind the scenes as an associate manager, associate casting director, assistant to producers on major projects, promotion for Universal Studios DVD releases, and a legal secretary for 7 entertainment lawyers at the prestigious Point Media; Debbie came up with the idea of A Faery Hunt. She then went on to create, produce, write, compose, and orchestrate the uplifting and fun scripts of A Faery Hunt. That was almost 20 years ago. The musical shows transport the audience to a beautiful, magical world where they can interact with the characters and immerse themselves in the story. Debbie watches over the content that is presented in A Faery Hunt. It is important to her that shows are innocent, and enjoyable, and highlight positive role models for the families who participate. She has created for the Faery Hunt company members a playground of creativity, who have the opportunity to collaborate and network with other performers and keep their skills sharp. Debbie is committed to providing a space where everyone involved can grow, develop as artists, and have a lot of fun.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Because of circumstances, I had to quit show business when I became a single parent. When I had the opportunity to go back, I struggled with where I fit in. After 10 years of searching, exploring different areas of the entertainment business, I came upon the idea of performances in the forest: A Faery Hunt. I’ve been developing that business for 22 years now.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
A Faery Hunt became the perfect vehicle for my creative talents. I’ve written a dozen musical scripts for A Faery Hunt, which have been performed. I wrote over 60 songs, several of which have been published. And I perform with the open to the public shows.

Here are some of the accomplishments of A Faery Hunt:

How do you define success?
Being able to be creative and share that creativity with others. Also, having the personal funds to give me the freedom to do that.
