Hi B, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Local Band Smokeout about 11 years ago based off just wanting to show my homies more music. I thought it would be cool to film myself watching and reacting to these songs (little did I know reactions would become a big thing years later lol). Fast forward to today, and i have done about 7000+ reactions and nearly 1000 interviews.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has absolutely NOT been smooth haha. Nobody and I mean nobody, watched anything I did for the first 2/3 years. I stayed around 1000 Youtube subs for what felt like forever until I finally had a major breakthrough and started taking it more serious.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I feel like what makes us stand out is we are an ANY GENRE channel. While most other youtube channels seem to focus on one genre (metal, hip hop) , we enjoy ALL music. Music comes in so many different colors, shapes, sizes, sounds….I love discovering something new and unique!
What do you like and dislike about the city?
By our city, im assuming you mean Victorville. I live in what is called The High Desert (because of its elevation) and its basically dry and sandy around here lol. There are some cool music venues in the are that show off amazing local talent though (Frogees Bar, 18 Taps).
