Conversations with Austin Ollis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Ollis

Hi Austin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Fly Bodies started in 2018. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that’s when I helped my first client use 75 lbs. That client was my younger brother Jordan. He lived in North Carolina at the time, and I lived in California, so I was able to coach him through his journey from a remote setting.

After Jordan lost the weight, he visited our hometown and met up with a couple who had just had a baby. They wanted to know what Jordan did to lose all the weight, because they both gained a few pounds during the pregnancy and found it much harder to lose the weight after the birth.

So Jordan and I started working with them and got them into great shape!

After helping them word spread quickly and we soon started helping many couples lose weight together. It was a pretty awesome feeling!

Fly Bodies has evolved over time, and we now focus on providing wellness services to faculty and staff members at schools.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been many obstacles along the way, but the toughest one so far is convincing schools that their faculty and staff deserve wellness services, just like any corporate company.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2012 and served Active Duty for 7 years. I’ve always had a passion for health and wellness, so during the last couple of years of my Active Duty career, I completed all the prerequisite courses needed to go back to school and become a physical therapist.

While I was completing the shadowing hours required to apply to schools for physical therapy, I found myself wanting to be more on the proactive side of health and wellness. I have a great respect for what physical therapists do, but I felt compelled to pursue the wellness services route instead of continuing to get a degree in physical therapy.

I believe I have a great understanding of what the average person needs to complete in a day to live a healthy life. We have nicknamed this as the Roth IRA for health or the FLY5.

These 5 things include sunlight exposure, water, exercise, sleep and an eating window. Doing the minimal amount required of each on of those will help you live a balanced life.

What makes you happy?
When I hear stories from people that have been positively affected by the services Fly Bodies provides, I get get really excited and happy.

When you teach someone how to live a healthy life or provide a service that they can count on week after week that will improve their overall well-being, I believe that will stay with them for the rest of their lives, and they can pass that on to others.
