Conversations with Amber Mari

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Mari.

Hi Amber, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
So I was born and raised in San Diego and decided to leave Cali and go to Chicago. Initially I went just for a change of scenery and experience new things and that I definitely did. Initially that experience and through the wonderful people I met I decided to continue my education. I then started the difficult process of starting nursing school and that was amazing because I truly am fascinated by the human body and all of its make up. Finished school with honors started working and within that year I found it was not for me. Learning about the human body and bringing your compassion to the job were very small parts of what it actually consisted of. I knew I didn’t want that kind of negative life it affected me tremendously. I wanted to refocus and still remain in health and wellness and that landed me back in San Diego completing my massage therapy license and starting my actual spa in Oceanside ca.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely struggles. Figuring out if you really know what you’re doing and if the change was the right choice. Finding clients that are real and trustworthy. Then I moved for more exposure spending everything I had and then the pandemic happens so how am I suppose to run a contact business with no human contact. Regrouping on what I can offer online but after that I just excelled.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a massage therapist specializing in body work. I offer a certain knowledge of your body and knowing how to release tension in all places. With the background knowledge of nursing incorporating real targeted therapy provides for a well rounded therapeutic session. I specialize in all massage types and I stay up on anything that is new to the industry specifically for that purpose.

What are your plans for the future?
I plan on building out my business to have more employees as well as continue to market and launch all my products that I have developed since in this industry such as body oils, body butters, candles, towel sets and I also have some apparel like tees available for purchase through my spa.
