Today we’d like to introduce you to “I am Sirius’ Star” by Akasirius
Akasirius, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My passion for fashion started a few years ago when trying to find my own personal style. Art has always been an important factor in my life and influences every single thing that happens around me, not only creative thoughts but also the way I view my environment and reaction towards it.
A person’s appearance and style really lets us know who they are without even having to talk to them. Therefore, my journey really started when trying to investigate more about what were those clothing items that would match together and get along with each other as a symmetrical or asymmetrical piece of art. To this day, I still don’t have a defined style that impulses me to have a determined flow when helping others find theirs, but at the same time, we could say I try to reach a chaotic mood boarding and styling in which not only one piece is the main point or focus, but all are.
My journey began with creating an Instagram account named @iamsiriusstar, referring to my artistic name, “Akasirius.” In an attempt to reach as many people as possible and make my name known in the fashion field, I ended up creating chaotic mood boards inspired by songs, movies, or styles. Currently It is a small account, but one day I hope to become a big fashion stylist for celebrities or regular enthusiastic people who would like some help creating their perfect outfit.
Fashion really makes a big impact on who I am and the way I feel on a daily basis about the world. It is not only clothes but the connection that it creates with what surrounds it, such as music, paintings, networking, trends, and most importantly, feelings.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As the start was not that long ago, I can’t really define if it has been that rough. Nowadays networking is easier than it seems, if you really determine yourself to be in contact with a specific person, you eventually will. Being successful is hard; being a failure is hard as well. Choose your hardness.
On the other hand, being successful quick is really based on your luck. Social media can be a powerful too to do so, but I know I still have a long path ahead. I consider myself a really ambitious person, so I expect to achieve as much as my energy lets me achieve in the next few years.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am currently a fashion stylist creating personalized and individual outfit and mood boards styling for clients or for my portfolio. In addition, I am involved in a University of California, Irvine magazine for the FITS club called “ZINE,” in which some shoots take place based on different thematics, and my work consists of styling the models that will be in it.
I am known for my chaotic styling, mixture of colors and textures. My goal is not to make one piece the main focus of the outfit but make noticeable every single component of it, from head to toes, from coat to earrings. Details make the difference, but when you have so much going on in just one place, most people would think that it’s too chaotic and unreadable, but I think that if it makes you stop for 5 minutes to look at all the details, that compose the total, then I did my work well.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Definitely Pinterest and Procreate. They really make a difference when looking for inspiration or creating the mood boards. Other stores’ websites are also really helpful to find which clothes I would like to dress my client with.
